s2000 is scary.
I drove my s2000 first time in rain. Wow it is slippery. I spinned out, but thanks to VSA, I was saved. Maybe it is the stock tires or could be my driving. I didn't even give much gas, but yeah it did scare me. I've been driving s2k for about 3 weeks now. I've have driven other rare wheel drive cars, but maybe i was too used to AWD Land Rover.
I am learning limits and potential of this car. I love it

yea, i had this car for about 3 weeks before i drove it in the rain, and then had the scariest time of my life. i was flooring it to get around a car and shifted into 4th so i was going like 60+ i wasnt in vtech i dont think. just right before. any ways tho right whebn i shifted into 4th i over reved it cause i still wasnt used to driving it and the back tires spun out on me and i started fish tailing on the on ramp of ga 400 at exit 8 going south. and i fish tailed like 5 times and some how got it straightened out and when i did i was doing like 30 and the car i had passed was way behind me like "oh shiat. I dont want none of that wreck". lol but nothing was damaged, everything is cool no, i kno my limits for the most part i think...im going on two months now of owning it.

If Stewie wuz a car that anybody could drive, 'wouldn't none'uv us be drawn to it guys.
Stewie requires . . no. Strike that. Stewie demands that you take the time to familiarize yourself with it. Let me activate the disclaimer ray n' say that this followin' is personal opinion: If anyone could drive it, I wouldn't wannitt n' would be lookin' for somethin' else that required skill n' attentiveness to drive. What draws us (okay . . . what draws me) to Stewie is it's cuttin' edge handlin'. Ma Honda didn't get that handlin' by manufacturin' yet another transportation pram. Makin' use of the edge (without plantin' you n' your shiny new ride in the landscape) cannot be accomplished without the aforementioned skill and attentiveness. The attentiveness is a no brainer, but the skill requires familiarization n' practice in large, regularly applied doses. N' get this: ain't none of it gonna be got on a website. It's gonna be gained by jumpin' in'a driver'z seat n' goin' out in the dry n' learnin' where your, n' Stewie'z limits are. It's gonna be gained by goin' out in the rain n' doin' the same thing. Each outin'll get you more experience n' closer to your personal edge. But to go out thinkin' tha'cher gonna jus' jump innitt n' drive it like you drove some lesser vehicle? If ya tried that I'd bet that you'd probably think that it's scary. (Welcome ta the world'a the Driver'z Car guys. You've chosen wisely. Now ya godda follow through.) Be well, Java

Keep in mind the tires are fairly wide for the size and power to weight of the car. When you get on it, like passing in a hurry, you're going to hydroplane and lose traction. Add to that quick steering that causes you to over correct and you fish tail. A lot of cars would have lost control. Stewie is balanced and was able to drive a little further in to the situation. Slow down, you'll live longer and so will others. I never drive any faster than I feel confident with. Still haven't broken the tail loose yet. But I will eventually.
But I managed to live long enough to learn.

Not fair, I've only been able to drive in rain a couple of times in the last three years... I did have fun growing up where we got snow on the ground once or twice a year and had a blast learning how to skid without taking out the rims on the curb, kind of miss that but now I get to skid on dry land here when I'm in the mood, and to keep in practice to find that edge...

ive never spun out and I push the car pretty hard. What does that mean? I think haj just meant his tires spun not the entire car rotated but I could be wrong.

You can do what I do........ don't drive it in the rain. Stiletto's wipers have only been on twice in the (almost) six years I have had her. The first time we were in fog so thick that I needed to use them and the other time it started to rain after an autoX. I still have the OEM wiper blades in there. I do carry a spare set in the trunk just in case.

Honestly, Java is the reason I don't frequent this site. I'm sorry to say, but frankly, he's annoying and extremely hard to comprehend.
I'm sure there's a good story behind his use of dilapidated grammar and spelling, but I think he should get over it. ...my 2 cents. |

Some get it and some don't. Not easy to create an original style. Java's makes you think a little and this group seems a little more intelligent than most. As has been mentioned before, you are not compelled to read every post. Not everyone likes Kerouac or Ferlinghetti, or sushi.

Geez, this crap again.....I won't go there...I noticed the thread of a similar nature earlier in the week has disappeared.
But I do have a comment about GM3's post describing what he does with his sliver of ebony quicksilver, A.K.A. Stiletto. Go Marlins, you're getting downright verbose!! I ain't seen you write so much all at once in a while.....Good Stuff. Regards, Jagg |

Yeah I'm a little nervous myself today. The drive to work was clear sky's but as soon as got to work it started snowing. So it should be a very interesting drive home.

I have driven on rt 95 at 70 miles per hour on a frozen road surface. And the LSD was not fuctional due to age. I was vitually floating over the road. I never lifted or made any but the slightest steering inputs. I love this car. It stayed in control for about 3/4 mile until the road was defrosted and I kept going. And this was pre Mugen suspension.
