Clutch Question

Alright guys, I've had my S2000 for about a year now and I haven't had any problems with it. But, recently my clutch has been acting up. I basically learned how to drive stick in this car so I probably did this on my own. But, heres the symptoms... Sometimes when I am pressing in the clutch peddle it'll get about halfway down and it will then feel like it hit something or sort of 'pops' but then depresses just fine after that. This doesn't every time, but when it starts it does it for a few more times then stops... I read somewhere that this could mean the fork isn't aligned properly. So guys, whats wrong and how much do you think it'll cost to get it fixed?

Thanks!

There's a few possibilities Ramiel,

Barring something wrong with the clutch slave, or master cylinders,
you'll be removing the transmission in order to find out where it's hanging up . (it doesn' t sound like this type of behavior, but they should always be checked before you go any further)

clutch pressure plate may be damaged, or the throw out bearing may be binding (lack of lubrication) or cockeyed on the input shaft. you can't see them with the transmission in the car.

I would call whoever you trust to work on your car and ask them to quote you what it costs to replace the entire clutch assembly......That should put you in the ballpark for a worst case scenario, moneywise.

Good luck,
jagg

Thanks for the vote of confidence Bobby.....

It's not an S2000 specific answer.
It's called "following the rules."
Bobby is familiar with this concept.
