lifter problem help!
hi guys, i got a ap1 and my lifter seems to be making a loud noise when im driving and when im stopped at idle its making a louder noise...i was wondering is the lifter on my car hygraulic?

prolly needs the valves adjusted honda recommends it at such and such a service

S2kIsu is probably right, sounds like you need the valve lash adjusted.
All Honda engines from around 1985 forward have over-head cams and thus don't have lifters at all. |

nope lifter's are not hydraulic, depending on the sound it could be a number of things. I would first start with the valve's spec is .08 to .10" intake spec and .10 to .11" exhaust side. Depending on mileage and how much you like v-tech they could be out of spec, seconed could be a bad timing chain tensioner which makes a card in a spokes kinda sound. If that is going I would recommend getting it fixed asap because if it fails completely engine will loose timing and break. Check youtube type s2000 ticking noise I think you will find the sound there. good luck
