I talked to a local tuning shop for my turbo and he said the kit is legit but he was unsure of the piggy back fuel management he said to stay away from the greddy emanage, it wouldnt run as smooth. Was wondering if any1 else has the greddy. I would call around other tuning shops in my area but thats the problem theres only one in nebraska ;(. The kit came with the greddy its an ultimate racing kit i tried to look for threads on this but no luck so im sorry if this looks like im wasting time. I just need some input. Also how much did the installing and tuning cost you guys for your turbo? I know it varies from where your from but id like to have a ball park estimate. Thx!

So did you get the full Greddy turbo kit? I heard the fuel management/piggy back kit that the very first kits came out with sucked and caused lots of problems but they have since clearred all those problems up.... Let me know and GL!

From what I have heard Hondata is the way to go. It is PC programmable for any mods both FI and NA.

i was looking at the hondata, from what it says it does it all. Obviously it is pricey and if that wasnt already enough...theres a few mechanical modifications id have to do in order for it to work heres the link if any1's interested. http://www.hondata.com/s2000kpro.html

I have been running the greddy emanage for 2+ years now on a turbo set up.
I don't have a kit, it is a collection HKS turbo, Tial wastegate etc etc, so my set up might not suit your purpose. But as for greddy emanage, i have had no problems at all with it although I am very very careful as to who tunes it. If you go with it, my advice is talk to people in your area first, as a lot of guys say they can tune them who really have no experience or try to use the auto setup feature. Dangerous. |

I have never heard of any problems with the emanage...I dont have one...or a turbo(I wish I did) But it is common for early kits to have some technical issues, they are brand new and dont have a lot of user feedback like they do when they have been out for a while. I would guess your tuner doesnt want to use the emanage because he has not had as much success with it as other tuning programs. I have heard the AEM EMS is the best way to go...but you have to make sure your tuner is very familiar with it. As for Hondata( I may be out of the loop) I did not even know they made a system besides a reflash for the S. Ill have to look into that, I have always been very pleased with their stuff. I would go with the emanage because you already have it...and if you dont like it...then sell it and switch to something else.

have the greddy kit
I want to sell my greddy emange ultimate cause im making the car track only and the piggy back dosnt work for me, want to get the AEM EMS. As far as i know the greddy emanage works great if u want a daily driver with 300hp to the wheels, but thats not my intention.
So let me know if anyone is interested ill be getting the AEM EMS in the next couple of days |

i have a greddy supercharged celica and their kit came with an emanage ultimate. the ultimate initially had a problem with a chip not soldered correctly and would often break loose as vibration against the housing occurred. i never installed it and went with an apexi power fuel control standalone. i think the bad rep for the emanage was due to the ultimate not the blue but then again it is a piggyback...

I had a greddy kit on my old ep3 civic si and it gave me no problems. The base map the kit comes with is solid enough. if you want to tune your car for 400 hp then you need a standalone. just because you have more control over everything.

trust me i feel your pain! after weeks of waiting on a harness for a E-Management Ultumate system, which i thought was the best, but now it's my opinion it's best for yoders and nissan's. no matter how many different kinds of tunes we fed into it the car ran horrible an today, we literally adjusted the timing over 25+/- and degrees and the car ran the exact same way every time, constant slack, major backfire, super rich a/f ration, and a honda racers worst nightmare, NO VTEC!!! so either it's a defective unit, or harnass, bc my stock ecu and engine runs perfect. therefore i'm selling the E-Management and going with the full stand alone S300 Hondata unit honda-Tech.com has my whole story abut basicually, asked the advice of a 15 year+ Honda/Acura Master Tec, and he tells me all that all the basics required for this to be possible is an OBDII bypass to an OBDI along with his professional tuning the S300 should work just as well if not better than the Greddy system, it should be going in tomorrow. ill keep you posted on how things go and wish my honda good luck baby, later

the only issues I have seen/heard of with the E-Manage are on the 06' for some reason. A handful of local's have alot of issues with their 06's..especially after tracking, but not limited to daily driving.

dude what are you like 2?! Please speak from experience. Not what you heard!! Mann... Anyways Greddy makes GREAT turbo kits! and the Ultimate Emanage is great if you are looking for 300ish horsepower. its reliable and it works... At first they had problems.. which is common... but now they have come a long way... Get the Greddy complete turbo kit.. you can upgrade your ECU to standalone later down the road. I go with the 80shot Nitrous zex wet kit, and the greddy turbo.. 400hp when i need it.. tuning is key... inlinepro is great. Last edited by aladdin20110 : 07-05-2008 at 08:28 AM. |
