Whining Noise from the rear!

Now I know most of you are NOT mechanics, but you may or may NOT have experienced this problem.

When I am driving, or for this matter rolling in neutral, there is a whine coming from my rear. This is VERY noticeable considering i hear it ABOVE my invidia exhaust!

I have heard many things that it COULD be, some people say it could be the tires, some say it could be the differential. Is there anything minor it could be? ANY ADVICE WOULD BE HELPFUL!

IM trying to eat, sleep honda over here, but this little problem is cutting into my sleep

Are you sure it's not your mother-in-law?

When was the last time the rear lube was changed? What was it changed with? I use Redline 75w-90 and have no problems even with a 4.77 rear...

Dunno RR.
If it's a whine that's heard over your exhaust, (you'd godda be runnin' Mickey Thompson Desert Duelers 'r Mud n' Snow'z to overcome that exhaust) the fella you should be askin' is your wrench who can touch, look n' listen.
The best we can doo from over here is guess n' while we're guessin' you're possibly doon damage.
Get thee to your wrench.

The other problem may be coming from one of the wheel bearings. If it is a droning noise, it could also be the diff or even the driveshaft however the latter is not likely.

What year is your ride that's making the rear end noise? Most of the time a noisy rear end on the Honda's is contaminated rear diff fluid, but these guys are right, could be bearings. Let me know the year and I'll see what I can find

Not sure if the bearings. My wheel bearings made a creaking noise with every revolution, not a droning sound. Sounds more like a rear end noise. I'd go with swapping the diff fluid and see if that helps first. If it is the wheel bearings, be very careful. I've heard stories of wheels coming off with no warning beforehand.

yeah so not only was the diff fluid completely messed up (since whoever put the fluid in in the first place, DIDNT USE THE RIGHT FLUID AT ALL)
This caused my whole differential to get MESSED UP!

Got a new differential, changed all my fluids/filters, my car is running brand spanking new!
Now all i have to do is the valve adjustment, and check on my retainers and after that is good, I can give this bad boy WOT till 9k ALL DAY LONG
