If you beat the living piss out of anything or dont take care of something or ignore hugeeeee signs of somethings not right then breaking stuff is perfectly normal. You will need to describe the problem a little better.

well car ran fine when i bought, had a slight clicking noise when i would first turn it on but as soon as it got to runnign temp it went away or if i hit the gas a little bit. when i was driving home last night i was getting on the highway and was accelerating, i got up to about 7000 rpm then i eard it start to click and so did my buddy who was driving in the lane next to me, so as soon as i started to pull over, i heard a something hard hit the bottom of my car, then all the white smoke, and i lost alot opf power. when i pulled over and raised my hood, the smoke was so thick that you couldnt see through. let the car cool down some and checked my oil level and coolant level both were completely dry by then (obviously). at first i thought it might be a head gasket, but upon futher investigation, i saw that at the passenger side motor mount, there was part of my engine block still attatched to the mount, then there was a big hole in the block where that mount normally goes. then i proceeded to tear up a bit and freak out.

possibility #1
LOW OIL.... possibility #2 no or low antifreeze, head gasket, water pump or radiator related, either-or you prolly shot a rod threw the oil pan... hence the noise, and the hole. The smoke is from over heating, which will point toward possibility #2... but if that was the case it should have smoking up while you where driving... if it is possibility #1 , if they checked the oil at the dealership, that cudof saved the car?? because you described the knock to be very faint... oil would fix that... dont they do the car inspections b4 u buy>??? I will bet you ran it low on oil. Spun a bearing then threw a rod.

if it was a small little corner used car lot it doesnt suprise me at all. Oil pan or block it doesnt matter the entire engine minus maybe the head is trashed now.

Is it an AP-1? Sounds like it might be an AP-1. If that is the case AP-1s are known to burn oil and starve the #4 cylinder. Either way it will expen$ive to fix. Good luck.

haha thats y they recommend that you check your oil level every time you go to the pump.. I always do and i keep 2 bottles of royal purple in my trunk in case its low... This way you will never come across this problem...
advice: do like they say and check it every time you go to the pump... if you get another s2... (most vtec's burn oil... so i've heard) |

WOW... this is a total nightmare, not quite sure how I would react...
It's either me or him, someone has to die today.. So you gave the keys back to the dealer after you purchased it, How does this work? |

I experienced the same problem. I took my car to the dealers for a state inspection. Normally, I stay in the waiting area and keep an eye on my car. But this particular time I didn't and for some reason the service tech drained the oil from my car. As I was leaving the dealership I noticed what I thought was a rattling noise. Figuring it was paper stuck under my car I kept driving. Five days later the noise got louder and car started running rough. When I got home I checked the oil and to my surprise there wasn't enough oil to register on the dip stick. I ended up having to add 4 qts of oil. Now my vtec doesn't kick in like it used to. Needless to say I will no longer use that dealership.

Im glad I am not the only one that thinks somethings wrong with that story. If I had to guess someone neglected checking their oil for quite sometime and it just so happened it bit them right after the dealer inspected the car.

My 01 S2000 engine failed, according to our local Honda dealership, it was due to a spark plug overheating & exploding causing damage to cylinder walls. they quoted almost 9k to fix it! I had the head rebuilt & found a block to repair it for less than 3k including installation. Honda said it was due to low oil & Ive heard that other people have had this kind of problem with even the low oil light not comming on to warn you, so watch out!

I don't think the idiot light ever comes on. Mine went low and starved #4 at 62k miles and the light never came on. It was 3 qt low.
