I put a TP on my Tanabe SMH and it (unfortunately) didn't get much louder.

you can usually find a used test pipe for $60. That's pretty low risk, if you choose to test it out. They're easy to resell as well. Give it a shot.

is it straight forward?? i would rather install an exhaust then wash and wax my car. more fun, and just about as hard, and i don't erally know much about cars... i just bought a wrench set and a jack, and jack-stands. unbolt. take away and put on something soft, towel or something. bolt new exhaust in. the best way to do it with bolt-on's or other simple things is just do it. you can always put it back on if you get stumped.
