oil change stuff

I changed my oil but cannot reset my engine oil life indicator even after following the instructions on page 136 of the manual. Does anyone have any good thoughts? Also most of the of women call our car Cute. I say no it's cool. Again to other people have the same problem?

Did you have the key in the on position or the run/start position? Don't know if that'll make a difference.

I like that our car is called cute. there are a lot worse things it could be called.

Maybe you should have created another thread for the part "women calling our car cute" so people can concentrate on helping you reset the indicator!

I remeber reading a thread recently about how to turn it off, but I don't remember. I drive so many miles that I just let it stay on. Try doing a search.

You turn the ignition on (no need to start) then push the trip meter to get to the oil life indicator, then hold the button for 10 seconds and the indicator will blink. Then push the button again for 5 seconds and it will reset to 100%.

Don Thanks for the info .What you stated is about the same as I did last night. I tried what you wrote and it worked sort of. Everything was good so I turned the car off. I turned the car back on it back was flashing -52 again. Did it again worked ok turned the car off and back on flashing again. ??

Yea, that's what I did to reset the oil life on my 06' and it works!
