Maintenance Required Light, Please Explain

My 04' S2K has 33,000 miles on it and I just recently found that the Maintenance Required Light is blinking. Is this one of Honda's bring your Honda in every 8,000 mile deals or does this actually mean something? Please Explain,
Thankyou
Gary
Nevermind, sorry for the repost.

Just a reminder to change your oil. If you let it go, it will stop flashing and just stay on, like mine has for like 30k-40k miles now.

Hey Dude if your freekin' about it you you can Reset the light by holding the trip/od button down then turn the key on. Keep holding the button down untill the light stops blinking. Check in the owner's manual for OIL CHANGE reminder light reset if this don't work.

I could never tolerate having that light even blink at me let alone leave it on for any length of time. That would bug the heck out of me.

I know for a FACT that the last year of production of the S2000 is 2003!!!!!
After that, it will be the S2200 under an assumed name.

+1. That would bug the living HELL out of me.

It is already bad enough that it bugs me when my exhaust tips have water spots... lol

Mine just started blinking at 10286 miles. The book says do A and B plus a couple other things. As I do maintenance as a continuous improvement process, all of the items have been completed. With exception of one, "greasing the steering rack". There is no reference to this task in the book and no place to add grease on the rack, so I will run till it fails.

Holy shit, so are you saying you haven't changed your oil in 30k-40k miles? I really hope not because that is ridiculous.

OMG...So, I guess you are assuming that I am either an idiot or your reading comprehension is a little to be desired. I was talking about the light on the dash and not the changing of the oil. I wouldn't have an engine left if I waited that long to change the oil.

02 censor.. It happened to me too.. To reset it just disconnect your battery for about 2 min and it'll turn off.. It will eventually turn back on untill you replace it tho... Its not serious tho.

+1. Take your car to the local Advance Auto Parts or Discount Auto Parts and get the CEL read for free. Resetting something without knowing for sure is stupid in my books.

But that is just my .02
