Do you mean your airbox? I know AP1s have a big problem with oil leaking from the PCV valve into the intake. Don't know if it could have drained down the intake tube if thats the case.

Sorry about the terms. What I mean is the plastic white bottle that has a hose link to the radiator.

That's the overflow reservoir for the radiator and it should only have coolant/antifreeze in it. Better have a look in the radiator.

Milkshake = oil + coolant. Not good. How's your temp gauge? Usually happens with a blown head gasket or cracked head. Get it checked as soon as possible.

Maybe it's time to flush the radiator.

Flush the cooling system to get rid of it and so you can monitor the situation.

How long have you owend the car? have you ever changed the fluid? If you havent it could just be rust water. If that is the case get it flushed out and you will be fine. and just to make sure take a look at your oil. If it appears milky than you have a problem. If not then a simple flush will do.

Hey Dudes that sounds like OIL and COOLANT are mixing together, not good. How is it running? Check the Oil and see what the condition of that is. If that looks milky you might have a bad head gasket or cracked head. I don't think you could of cracked the block Hondas are pretty tough. There are some tests your mechanic can do to check it out, where you at?

That is commonly know as cream of toadstool soup. And I am certain you have a blown head gasket.

There is no reason to be a fainting goat.....Untill you rule everything out, you don't know anything. Follow the above advice... 1) Flush the radiator (if you dont want to a local shop should do it for around $45) 2) Monitor the system. A couple of questions. a) How long have you owned it and how many miles does it have? b) Has it ever over heated since you have owned it? (If not it is very unlikly that is it because of a head gasket) Reason is is some people will just add fluid to there resevior tank to "fill it up" cause they think it needs it. Remember that there are different color radiator fluids, and if you mix the orange and the green it will look brown and somewhat milky. There are also additives you can add that claim to lower engine temps. The only problem is that they are somtimes different colors and that can cause a color change. They also have special additives to put in incase you think your radiator is leaking to try and seal the leak. That can change colors as well when mixed. Do you have any oil leaks under the motor? Do you know if the radiator has ever leaked or been replaced? Do you change your oil regularly? Again good questions to ask. Hope that helps.

A lot of people put stuff in the water that will make it change color. Sometimes it's just for prophylactic measures. And no, that's not dirt.

what does the milkshake stuff taste like? i've heard that if it is chocolate, just a flush will do, but if it is chocolate-banana, that is a whole 'nother set of problems.

If it's in the overflow tank it's in the radiator. If oil is getting into the radiator which is what makes "cream of toadstool soup) then it is coming from somewhere where pressurized oil comes from and is near the water jacket. The best place it could come from, the most common and the least expensive thing to fix is the head gasket. If it is coming from somewhere else then it will be a seriously expensive repair. And in any case make sure whoever does the job is competent and flushes the cooling system thoroughly. Because if any oil contamination remains it could precipitate a second failure due to overheating, I have seen it happen.

I had an old Honda Civic. Got it free with a blown head gasket. Shaved the head and replaced the head gasket twice. It would blow on a hot day going up a steep grade. Gave the car to my friend. He replaced the head gasket AND the radiator (which looked fine inside (as far as one could see) and outside). He never had a problem with it again.

Thanks for the vid, Dez. Kinda reminds me of my ex-mother in law. And there was definitely no reason to be like that.
