Intake question for 08
Well I keep searching and am not finding an answer so I will ask you experts. What is it about the 06-08's that prevents me from putting on a cold air intake? I want a V2 as I have had one on a previous vehicle, but AEM's site says 00-05. It seems just about every intake I find is 00-05 only. Can anyone clue me in to what the deal is? Starting to think I should have bought a used 05 instead of new. Thanks in advance for any info you guys have.

The 06+ are DBW. I would think the throttle body is the main factor to why it wouldn't fit.

When I was trying to buy an intake for my S2K (before I realized that if I want to buy a turbo later in life, the intake would be a waste of money), some guy at a rims shop told me that I shouldn't buy a cold air intake for the S2000. I didn't ask why, and I don't really care to know why since I don't plan on buying one now.
I'm sure this information isn't relevant to your thread, but I thought I'd just drop my $0.02 about myself.

Dazed and Confused.

The vacuum fittings are different. There's an extra hole for a vacuum line that the 06+'s do not have. I stuck my MAF sensor (I think), in that hole and it works fine.

![]() Correct. They modified the PVC as well. It was to make the car better at not consuming oil. It will work with a little modifying. Go the easier route and get the K&N FIPK.

Because some guy at a "Rims Shop" told you. Sorry, but the guys at the local Tire Kingdom barely know how to mount a tire on a rim.
Plus a lot of your reply's and/or thread topics are all along the lines of WTF... Take care!

![]() Umm... No. Because I spell words correctly makes my replies along the lines of "WTF"? Really? Okay, dezignpro04. Anyway, the guy at the "rim shop" also had a catalog of K&N objects, such as cold air intakes, oil coolers, etc. I walked in to see if they sold any lightweight Enkei rims, and the guy began asking me if I was trying to tune my S2K. Long story short, he recommended that I not purchase an intake unless I do not want to spend money on a turbocharger.

Well I'm certainly sorry I started this exchange... but really thanks for the responses, it makes sense. I understand they don't make any power alone, I like the sound at WOT. I'll just stick to stock for the most part. I got a chance to enjoy the car this weekend and it is very nice in the corners and has adequate power. Thanks again for the answers, much appreciated.
