What do you mean burn? If it means oil consumption, you might have something else going on.

I have used Mobil 1 for 4 years in my S2K with no oil consumption. Any car I have ever had that used more then a quart between oil changes had internal engine problems. Better check it out before your engine checks out.

I've been using mobil 1 and find no problems. Very rarely have to add in any between servicing. What are you using 10W 40? 5W 30? etc

Do you have an AP1?
AP1s are notorious for burning oil. If you take hard right hand turns, oil will leak out from the pcv valve into your intake. They fixed it with the AP2. Hence this is why the pcv is different in AP2s. BTW I use Mobil 1 and have lost a 1/4 quart in a few months. |

You have a serious problem bro! You should pay a visit to your local Honda dealer.

Yep. Thats about 1 bottle short of a full oil change. Way too much oil being burned up.

I think you better do a compression or leak-down test. Switching oils is not going to fix your problem.

Two things to check:
PCV system not functioning correctly. It is cheap to replace that valve, just do it. You can even pull it off and check it by blowing into it. You may be using a very light weight oil. A 10 or 20 weight oil designed more for racing applications might have some control issues on a higher mileage car. Especially in a hotter climate. I almost did this. I bought some oil for the track car and figured I would use it in the S2000. Lucky for me, I caught this mistake before I even received the oil (Redline) and ordered some more just for the S. I will be doing the change next week, so I don't have any feedback on the oil. |

When you drive a high performance car hard, some oil consumption is to be expected. If you use less than a quart in 1000 miles, not a big deal. It means that hard working parts are getting lubed. Especially when you hit Vtec.
I use Mobil 1 and use less than 1 quart between changes. The way the engine was broken in will have an effect on consumption as well. Also, check that none of your seals is leaking.
