No Throttle Response

When my S 2000 warms up & I am leaving a traffic light from a stop my throttle acts like it doesn’t work for the first inch or so. I have to really gas it for it to respond & it kind of clears up like it is loaded up but it isn't & I wind up going much faster than I really wanted to. It almost seems as though when it idles it gets hot enough for something to not work right. While I am driving it works perfect but after stopping for a light it acts up. I pulled up in front of the ups store. Got out dropped off a package got back in the car started it up & started to leave & blend into traffic It did it & I really had to punch it.

Anyone had any experience with a throttle problem/

It is a 2007 with 2600 miles on it.

Not an engine expert however, it seems like your S is still under factory warrenty. Let the experts at Honda check it out for free!! Go get your money's worth!!

Maybe you put it in 3rd instead of 1st. It happened to me once.

Or, something is wrong with your DBW.

I just got off of the phone with a good service writer (hard to find) at Santa
Ana Honda really seems to know about the S cars he said I don’t drive it enough or hard enough. It sits for weeks at a time & I don’t rev it up much. It has been doing it for a dozen times at least every time I take it out me can remember.

He said the throttle body plate might be gummed up

Does that sound like it?

Honestly, that's the most ridiculous explaination I've heard.

I don't think so. Try another dealer. You may have a problem with the DBW system.

Agree. I have an 07 with 3000 miles. Don't drive it enough. Some people just talk to hear their own voices. Pisses me off. Something is wrong and they need to fix it! Go elsewhere.

I'll offer to do you the favor of taking it to a race track for the day on some 100 octane racing fuel. I bet you will get it back and get better gas mileage than you've ever had.

either do it yourself, or tell a honda tech to check the throttle cable. i doubt it could be loose, but maybe one of the nuts slipped or something... i tightened mine up on my ep3 for better throttle response

No throttle cable hfp. Drive by wire started in '06.

It does have a cable, but not to the throttle body. You can adjust it too. I read it on S2Ki.
