Got rid of the dreaded exhaust drone!!!
I love the sound of my Invidia exhaust. However, I hated the drone that seamed to go along with it. After several tries nothing really helped. Now the engineer in me had to figure out a way to solve this. After a lot of thinking about what could cause the drone I tried something different, its not the exhaust, its the car. With that in mind I purchased a sound deading material call "Spectrum" by a company named "SecondSkin". I removed the exhaust and striped down the trunk. Applied severial thick coats over the entire reachable surfaces. It can be sprayed however I chose to paint it on with several paint brushes. It really works.

That's a clever solution to a very annoying exhaust. How high a temp can that coating stand?

according to the mfg. it is not designed as a heat shield. I coated the area starting just in front of the resonator. I did not coat the area near the cat.

doesnt the mfg give a specific heat tolerance or at least a range? if not, thats a little iffy. iffy's a word, i can use it. i would think you want the stuff to withstand at least 500 deg F just to be safe. (500 only if no where near the cat)

The only problem is that the rest of the world has to listen to that obscenely loud exhaust. And I am quite certain it's power gains are small or non existent.
