what is it????
If you remember a while back I started a thread about a puzzling CEL issue I was dealing with and all the futile steps taken to rectify the situation http://s2000.com/forums/engine-tech-...cel-issue.html. Nothing worked.
Well I finally got down to the bottom of it but I don't know exactly what it was I removed. I just discovered the previous owner connected a blue harness looking attachment to the MAF sensor. This whole time I thought it was supposed to be there. It is some sort of after market part and I have absolutely no idea what it does. It turns out this had been the culprit this whole time. It got to the point where the car would rev up and down violently after starting. I raised the hood, my elbow accidentally grazed this piece and the car cut off. I removed it and now everything is fine. So what is this piece???? And what was it supposed to do??? (I should have took pics before I removed it but wasn't thinking...sorry) |

sounds like a device that's designed to make the MAF reading different than what it really should be.....part of somebodys engine setup.
one of the piggy-backs got missed. Have you been getting sub-par fuel economy since you got yer stewie? |

No, fuel economy doesn't seem to be effected. After driving today it seems like it wasn't much of an upgrade. I ran through the gears and kicked it into Vtec and noticed no noticeable differences. I wonder what it was for....
