thanks alot dingle, now all I want to do is go home and check out my car. instead I still have a full day's work to do!

I never really noticed that on my car, I think it looks good with the tape removed. Can't wait to get home and check it out.

Warning: Some have reported that removing the Windshield tape has left a less than desirable paint finish underneath. It seems that Honda either didn't completely finish the coating process before applying the tape or put the tape on before the paint was fully cured.

BTW, my2008 comes without the tape from the factory.

In the past some people have removed the tape to show the finished paint, I think they used a hairdryer to seperate the glue bond

If you take it off and don't like it, it can be replaced. It's called blackout tape.

This place has a 4" wide 16' roll for less than 30 bucks ........

Took mine off years ago.

I think it looks better with the top down, worse with the top up.

I prefer the tape to be left on each of the colors.

I know for a FACT that the last year of production of the S2000 is 2003!!!!!
After that, it will be the S2200 under an assumed name.

CG: is that supra also yours? That's the twin turbo model, no? Lots of fun, those cars, when they first came out. First car I ever drove that had traction control and it freaked me out when it kicked in doing its job on a cloverleaf style entrance ramp to the freeway when I got a little overzealous.

Sorry to side track the thread with that.

Like CG, I have a moderate preference for the blacked out look when the top is up, and for the matched paint look when the top is down. I don't think I would go to the effort of removing the tape from my own (lazy), but I think it looks nice removed and there are plenty of other convertibles that don't have black out tape around the windshield.

My 08 Chicance Silver (looks Silverstone) had it removed at the dealer. I like it and no problems with the paint underneath. But a work of caution. If not done carefully the weatherstriping comes out along with the tape. The dealer had to call a windshield replacement guy to fix the weatherstriping.

My 08 had the tape removed too (I guess the dealer's detailer did it??)

The weatherstripping did get a little deformed, but it's only a small spot and really not worth a fuss. I'm fine with the tape gone - either way looks fine to me.
