Hardtop...or not?

Does anyone have any experience with the optional hardtop? Living in SOCAL, I'd probably be driving with only blue sky over my head, but what are the advantages of the hardtop?

Tim;
Like anythin' else there'a gonna be those for n' those ag'in. I'm one'a the one's ag'in.
I'm sure in the messy winter weather, that the hardtop would be a welcome plus, but I don't want to take away from any opportunity to put the top down when that opportunity presents itself.
As easy as takin' a hardtop off would be (no personal experience with a Stewie hardtop) I just know that once it's on for the winter I'm gonna need a bonded guarantee from the weather gods that the sun's gonna be out n' it's gonna be 80 degrees for me to take the time to remove n' store it.
N', truth be told . . last winter I was plenty warm in the worst weather with just the raggtopp.
But then, I may be a bit biased. After 30+ years ridin' my bikes through the winters . . any beater with a heater is sheer luxury.
Hardtops???? We don' need no stinkin' hardtops!
Be well.

Blue sky over blue hardtop...got it.

Good advice...thanks. I'd like to find someone with one and spend a few minutes in it...just to see. And SOCAL certainly doesn't have winters that would justify the purchase. Blue sky it is.
