They can be cut out to let air into:
A. a CAI
B. Fog lights
C. Brake ducts.

I know for a FACT that the last year of production of the S2000 is 2003!!!!!
After that, it will be the S2200 under an assumed name.

No problem. I try to help when I have an idea of where to find an answer.

My CAI filter was behind there so it made sense to open it up. The S doesn't come out in the rain and stays inside where it's warm when the snow comes. With the SC it doesn't really matter about the inlet, but since I had the grills, I cut them out again with the new front bumper. Some day I may but in brake cooling ducts if I ever go tracking again.

Cooling the fog lights...

Jack, you crack me up....

After reading Go's reply about opening up the vent for the CAI, I took a good look to see if it might push some air into my intake. My filter is clearly visible from the grill, neatly tucked to one side, getting lots of air pushed to it from Stewie's mouth. Can't see how opening up that vent cover would make a bit of diff. But that filter is DIRTY!! Came with the car. A friend gave me a "recharging kit" that I might use, but if I wanted to replace it, where do I get a new filter? It's a AEM V1 CAI system.

I was wondering about these as well.... on all other Honda's I've seen they would be spots for OEM fogs, but I haven't found any info to back that up on the S2k.

I have seen guy install the JDM fog lights from the EG6 Civics in the fake vents they sell the kits on ebay (I don't know how much faith I would put into those) if it was a nice snug fit and looked good I would butcher my bumper for it

I would just paint them black
