Some people that prefer the hardtop look have done it to save weight. That stuff does weigh a lot.

Yes, people their are a lot of people that remove their softtops. I haven't done it personally but from what I understand, its not the hardest thing to do.

tHats what i wanted to do....u can always take the hard top off if you wanna ride topless...as long as you got a place to store it and weathers good

It's pretty simple. Just take your time and do it right. Unplug the connections where possible, and label them when you have to cut. That way, if you ever have to put the soft top back on, it will be a much smoother process.
