S2k Converty And Hard Top?

I was on EBAY and it has a picture of a silverstone with a convertible AND a hard top. Now unless they installed the hard top and took the picture, reinstalled it and replace the convertible back on it, that would be crazy. I guess the question for this thread is; Is it possible to have a hard top AND a convertible equip? Dumb question i know. . .

Yeah, a lot of people who put the hard top on, just leave the soft top installed, but folded down.

Now, you could not put the hard top on the car physically if the soft top was latched shut.

I had a Miata with a hard top and I am certain they are the same. The soft top is NEVER removed, simply folded back. Removing a soft top is not an easy project and it would never be designed that way. The Miata needed some special brackets installed to hold the hardtop in place. The leading edge fastened to the windshield brackets in a similar to the convertible top. These hard tops are nice. I really liked the one for my Miata and would love to have a color matched top for my red Honda but they are pricey. John

I don't see anything related to a hardtop on that site. Do you work there?

I have a hard top and I always keep my soft top folded under it. I probably use my soft top 10 times a year... But it's always folded safe under there in case I need it.

Is there any harm in leaving the soft top folded down for such long periods of time???

I'm pretty sure I already know the answer to that (otherwise I don't think many people would own hardtops). Just wondering how it affects the soft top though.

word, in need of a free pharmacy discount card? www.helpinghandpharmacy.com!

and to answer your question about detrimental effects, i would liberally apply 303 protectant after washing the soft top thoroughly before bolting on a hardtop.

Nah I think more harm comes from putting it up and down having the bar rub on it as it goes up/down
