S2000 logo on aero screen

I saw some other S2000 has S2000 logo on aero screen which I do not have,
Is it something aftermarket or I just don't happen to have one on my 07?

There used to be a company that made those, but Honda told them to stop. You would only be able to get one used (if you could find it).

I have it. Rick's sold it for awhile until Honda said that was a no no.

You can see the Rick's steering wheel badge and S-Pods in the hoops.

You can still find them on e-bay once in awhile, mine has s2000 with the word roadster below it.

Ya know i love hondas to the bone but honda is pissing me off with telling people to stop making logos. If there going to stop people from making them they should start making them.

Honda owns the trademark to the name, which means they get to decide if anyone else gets to use it or not (for example, for making aero screens). And Honda can likewise choose to make or not make anything they way. And trademarks are something a company MUST enforce or else they risk losing the trademark altogether, or risk losing the ability to enforce it with others.

In other words, if Honda did not stop the aero screen they might risk losing the ability to stop someone else from using the trademark on other items. Items that might be very profitable, inflamatory, whatever. This might sound like a silly trademark law but its not. What it boils down to is you cannot selectively decide to enforce your trademark, you must treat all people identically. And that is good.

Whether Honda offered to license the S2000 name and design to this company or not I do not know. Possibly they did and the price was too steep. Possibly they just said "stop".

Yeap i understand that, and understand why.But it still pisses me off because i wanted alot of those aftermaket thinks like Ricks S logos with the 2000 in the bottom of it but i had to settle for the ones with just the big S.

I have the Wind Screen that is lit by LED's and it is great. Go for a custom logo and be distinctive. I don't like Honda's stance but I do understand it. I work for a company that has had our brand name "attacked" several times.

I kicked that idea around a few years ago, but the artist and I couldn't agree on a the picture I wanted. I think he finally gave up on me. They are cool.

Hey, anyone with a vinyl cutter could make the logo for basically nothing (scrap from comercial banners, signs etc.) in less than 10 minutes. . .not that I would encourage infringing on Hondas copyright or anything . . .

"Whatever you do, where ever you go, enjoy the drive." I know for a FACT that the last year of production of the S2000 is 2003!!!!! After that, it will be the S2200 under an assumed name.
