First post, First questions, First S2000!

I just got my first S2000, been eyeballing them for a while...

2000, with 12k, clean and nice!

What do you use to protect and keep your top clean and protected from the elements? Also is it fabric or vinyl?

Also, my rear window (plastic) is all "scratched" up is there anything I can do to polish or clear it up so I can see better?

Lastly, I took it to the Honda dealer and had then inspect everything, including all the fluids and their conditions. Everything checked out fine. I also, had them check for any recalls and there were three, the parts were not in stock so they had to order and will replace these item when they are in.

Is there anything I should pay particular attention too?

Thanks,

IV the Nob!

Congrats on your new ride IV, wear it in good health.
In the "payin' attention department:First n' foremost keep a short leash on yourself until you n' your new ride have had some miles (quite a few) pass under your butt. Pilotin' Stewie certainly ain't like drivin' your everyday normal transportation n' that requires some gettin' used to. When cornerin' hard there's a tendency to have the back end play loose if there's anything that might upset your attitude durin' said corner. Jus' so ya know that it's there.
N' then there's the stupid "Stewie grin" that comes on you without you realizin' it. It'll have friends n' neighbors lookin' at'cha suspiciously.
As for the top, everybody's got their favorite, n' as long as you treat it with somethin', you're doin' better than not treatin' it at all. I've personally tried ArmorAll n' 309, well 30 somethin' anyway. 'Never can get that right. 'Found 'em both about the same. Also found RaggTopp which is now my first choice.
As for the plastic rear window: there're a number of plastic polishes out there that will eliminate most, if not all of the fogging. The yellowin's another matter. The plastic is breakin' down into it's chemical components as it ages. 'Similar to metal work-hardenin'. Meguires r' Mothers will remove the fogginess for a while, but to keep it clear once it starts hazin' you're gonna godda stay on top of it.
So, again: best of luck with it IV.
Be well.

Not to take anything away from S2000.com, but check S2000 Club of America. There are a lot of S2k's in your area.

Thanks kgf3076, I will check it out...

Btw, can some one explain to me what "Stewie" means and where the term came from?

Also, since we are using ArmorAll type products on the soft top, I would say it is safe to assume then that the top is Vinyl, right?

Thanks in advance!

Yo, Java, answer this one please for our friend the meaning of Stewie.

IV, Java Junkie is our resident guru and all wise person!!! He'll know.

As far as the convert top question ...yes, it is vinyl

Another good product is Aerospace 303. Perfect for all vinyl products.

Ragg Top or 303 are your preferred vinyl treatments.

Personally, I've been using Elsie but now that I have a Garmin Nuvi with the pushy female, I'm going with Elsa (as in Elsa, She-wolf of the SS)
