LOOKING INTO PURCHASING A HARDTOP. I THINK THEY LOOK GOOD. WANT TO GET A FACTORY ONE. I WAS WONDERING IF I CAN JUST BUY THE TOP OR DO I NEED HARDWARE AS WELL. MY OTHER QUESTION IS WHERE IS THE BEST PLACE TO GET ONE.

i got an aftermarket hardtop for 1000$ on ebay.....it came without the hardware, i asked the guy from the shop selling it to me if i could possably fabricate my own hardware on it and it said it was very easy, and that alot of the drifters did it with an ease, as did i. the window seals where just plain philips head screws that held seal rails, instead of drilling holes into the delacate fiberglass i just simply siliconed them in place. the latches came right off the soft top with the same 2 screws and bolted right onto the hardtop (has predrilled holes already taped). i put a weatherstrip around the back on the hardtop, i left the screws on the inside where you bolt it down in the back halfway screwed out so the hooks on the tiedown straps would go around them firmly, i cranked them down tightly and had myself a hardtop. i race it so i just removed all the plastic in the back but if you still want it removable then you will have to cut the plastic so you can bolt it down somehow in the back.
