Touch up paint doesn't match
I just bought a 2004 Silverstone Metallic and the previous owner had plenty of chips in the paint from road debris. I tried the Honda touch up paint but it is way too dark for the car. I started to wonder if my car was the lighter silver but I checked it out and it is definetly the Silverstone. Does anyone else have a souce for touch up paint that will actually match the factory paint?

take into consideration your veh is 3 years old & has 3 years under the sun. so i am sure your origanal paint color has diminshed some. you might want to check a local body shop and maybe they can blend it for you. hope this helps.

My Insight has the same problem. I bought the correct color, but it also is too dark compared to the car's color now. JDM06S is right about the sun fade over the years.

From what I have heard previously Silverstone is one of the hardest colours to match.
I had a light scrape (with red paint) on the car that I was able to use some silver coloured car polish on which did the job well. Paint chips are a whole different kettle of fish, as the paint is missing. My paint chips got fixed under insurance when I had an accident a while ago (not that I recommend you go smash your car) |
