if you want your car to just be louder it sounds like you need to sell the S2k and buy a civic, lol.

Mugen is the best and with the airbox and headers it becomes a tuned system. I was running 60 psi fuel pressure by means of an AEM fuel pressure regulator. When added the Mugen exhaust, ringlets of fuel were coming out. I contacted King Motorsports and was informed I should be running the stock regulator which I am running now.

loud cars ftmfw if they can back it up.

Anyways I ran a spugen single with the magnaflow resonator and cat. It was very loud had great tone but the drone was horrible. Could not talk on the phone listen to the radio or anything. I then ran no exhaust which sounded amazing but the fumes were getting a little much and it was alot of attention. Now I am running stock muffler with a other little mod I cant say what since that topic seems to start wars on this forum haha. I just bought a borla exhaust and that should be here monday so I will report back what I think about that.

Ya, Invidia is a really good one. It sounds so sick and loud. As you said your goal is loud, this is the one you want I think. I talked to another S2000 guy infront of target=.= He use the HKS too(as many people are using) It sounds nice too, if compare to Invidia, the HKS will sounds more "sweet" (I am not saying it is not good, I like how it sounds) but the major different is the Invidia will pull more eyes on you at the second that the light turn green. Youtube has some invidia exhaust chip for S2000. Check it out.

Mine is the Tatinium N1 cat back exhaust, here are some photo to share:

Someone mentioned in another thread that I could just go with a set of mufflers and that would change the tone. I am wondering what would be the best for sound. I am happy with the performance of the car I am just wanting more vroom being blasted out the back.

Thanks guys

I think the least anoying and ricey exhaust is the Apexi world sport 2. clean look and quiet. nice tone! not ricey at all. ive had an HKS- liked the sound but disliked the look, Invidia- could not hear myslef think!, Apexi- loved the look and the tone.-

The best advice I got before I bought my HKS was to try and attend an S2000 event and LISTEN to what the other folks have. I actually had a fellow Stewie owner follow me off a highway here in NY, catch up to me by a traffic light, and ask if he could listen to my exhaust.

No matter how many opinions you get from others, it's still their ears and their opinion. If at all possible listen for your self. You can also listen tothe sound clips on YouTube but it's not quite the same as hearing it in person.

That being said I did not follow the above advice, chanced it on an HKS I found on eBay because it was very cost effective. I'm very happy with it.

SM, I really godda go with Phil on this.
There'z jus' too many timez when, well, maybe you're jus'a wee bit beyond the posted limit'n whoopz! There'z a blueman in'a Hemicharger tha'cha hadn't noticed before. With the stock exhaust you've godda good chance'a not havin' drawn'izz attention to the fact that you might'a been enthusiastic in your motorin'. With a louder exhaust, the chances that he didn't notice'ya'r a whole lot less in your favor.
This is not somethin' that I'm speculatin' about. This is gospel.
'Wanna get noticed?
Watch whu'cha wish for. Yuh may gedditt.
Best'a luck however yuh choose'ta go SM.
But, like that ol' knight said . . . . .

OK, I'm sorry, and with all due respect to all you "elder statesman" but I just don't buy the argument that a moderately loud exhaust attracts the boys in blue.

Scenario #1 Here is this cop sitting in his patrol car with his radar/laser gun "shooting as you pass by in 6th gear doing 80 miles per hour in a 40. Trust me he's not going to notice the exhaust note. He's gong to notice that you are going 2X the speed limit.

Scenario #2 Cop in his patrol car, windows closed and the A/C is on. He's dogging you from about 4 car lengths back and you are weaving and speeding and doing other stupid stuff. He again does NOT heart that exhaust. He sees you speeding and doing stupid stuff.

Now, when the cop finally pulls you over is you are stupid enough to keep the engine running and maybe even draw more attention to yourself by blipping the throttle, well then maybe he might notice and get even more annoyed. But people that stupid are also also likely to make a fast and jerky dive for the glove box (yeah, I know Stewie does not have a glove box). then the loud exhaust will we the least of their problems.

If someone can tell me a real life, plausible scenario in which the cop will pull you over or notice you MORE for a moderately loud exhaust I'm will to get educated. Just as an aside Daddy was NYPD for 35 years..........OK, No Stewies back then, but he probably did encounter a hot rod 57 Chevy or two in his day....LOL

Jav, You are so right about the biker thing. The slogan "Loud Pipes save lives" should read "Loud pipes cause hearing damage"

As for an S2 being "Stealthy".......Loud pipes or not the "S" is not stealthy. It shouts "Sports Car and " Speed" especially in red and yellow. A dark gray Buick LaSabre. Now, that's STEALTHY!

I like the comptech exhaust sounds and also the tips. They look like stock.

So, uhhhhhh, what's wrong with the factory exhaust system? It's quite loud, with a nice tone, and it's built to last. Why so hot to spend cash on fixin' what ain't broke? Do the other systems really sound that much different?

just wondering,

Jagg, like most things of this nature the terms "quite loud" and "nice tone" are subject to interpretation and personal taste
