Want louder exhaust note...ideas
Gents I do not want to turn ricer at all. (Not my style) However my last 4-wheeled wonder of the road (2002 Mini Cooper S) had an exhaust system from Dinan which sounded great and not ricey. Someone mentioned in another thread that I could just go with a set of mufflers and that would change the tone. I am wondering what would be the best for sound. I am happy with the performance of the car I am just wanting more vroom being blasted out the back.
Thanks guys

I love the sound of j's RR70 racing exhaust. It sounds exaxtly like an F1 car and not a wet fart. theres a youtube video with a bunch of exhausts compared

I would still take my HKS or a Greddy over those, but the powerhouse didn't sound bad.

I have the Comptech exhaust and have been told that under WOT it sounds like an Indy car.

HKS is a GREAT sounding exhaust, I would go with it for the sound. On the other hand if you are wanting to stay as close to factory HP..I would look another route. Even though there is less then a handful that will actually increase power (After tuning) the baffles in the HKS cause a pretty high restricted air flow..

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yz6eNC4_LJY hks exhaust http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=knz4N...eature=related the hks sounds great but i don't need the po-po bugging me and it's more restrictive than stock? i do like the more subtle comptech though... |

I installed the HKS a few weeks ago. I'm enjoying it. Not too loud, not too soft. Just right....just like Goldilocks...........Check out the sound of it on YouTube...it's pretty accurate.

So now we have Comptech vs HKS and I am not looking for a power loss shessh. Whats the story on the Comptechs would that restrict air flow? If so how bad stacked up to the HKS? I like the sound of both its music to my ears.
