Mugen 'style' hardtops on eBay
I'm in the market for a hardtop and noticed these Mugen 'style' hardtops on eBay that are a lot less than real Mugen or OEM hardtops. Has anybody ever purchased these Mugen 'style' hardtops and can vouch for the quality of them?
Here's an example of one: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/00-UP...spagenameZWDVW |

I saw one of these today, or maybe another look-alike. it looked good in just the carbon. But there seemed to be unconcsistent thickness in the clear coat. Also the fit arround the windows and whereever the top meets the body or windshild was not very good.

When you factor in miscellaneous cost, you may as well get the OEM! Most ebay sales won't tell you you need to purchase an additional $500 - $600 in hardware to install the top AND the after market tops don't always come with glass either so thats more $$$ (unless you just intend to track it on sunny days). All that factored in you may only save $5.00 LOL.
ASK QUESTIONS and be informed!! I agree with the others go with the OEM because then you will have a degree of security and a respectable warranty. Good Luck!! |

after being in this industry for awhile I am a firm believer in you get what you pay for.
I say just buy OEM. I know its expensive but nothing ever fits as well as OEM

Lots of "After market" stuff on ebay is just cheap knockoff shyt just thrown together just to make some cash....OEM is the way to go for that factory fit
