Dash detailing
What data or experience does anyone have on detailing the dash to hold up in heat and sun ? I have a 2008 CR and it looks real dry . I have heard that most common brands are not good for heat and sun .

I use 303 protectant. I highly recommend it.
You can find it at most marina supply stores or boat dealers.

Only a little and it dissipates in short order.
I gives the leather a lot of UV protection and keeps it pliable.

303 definitely! It's best for tires too. Most things have petroleum in them, 303 doesn't.
Best price I've found, when shipping is figured in. http://www.highwayshine.com/cat/home.html

Thanks for all of the replies. I will get busy and save the dash this weekend . I am a new member and this is my first S2000. My only other Honda is a DelSol I hope the S2K measures up. The S2K is not as fast as my 911 but it should be cheaper to drive.
Thanks again for your input, if you are ever near Tryon, NC look for a yellow CR with a clean dash. |

I got my 303 at West Marine (a boating store) for about $22 for the 32 oz. size.
I've tried 303 and Maguier's on the dash. I was disipointed in the splotchiness they left behind. I had an old bottle of Armourall so I treid it. It has given me the best looking dash results I've seen. I was never an advocate of the stuff but it works better than anything else I've tried. No SPF though.

I've been using Meguiars "Natural Shine" on vinyl and tires. Leaves a satin finish, not shiney.

ArmourAll will dry out the dash. I had an Accord dash crack when using it. I've also talked to a rep for Naugahyde and to Michelin. Both said to stay away from it. I have the black interior and I get no splotches from 303. I just wipe it evenly with a microfiber cloth.

I wiped down the interior with an old pair of socks last weekend. I didn't apply any protectant at all. Looks good. (I did have to turn both socks inside out to get off all the dust/grime/whatnot.) Special attention paid to the area behind the seats. Lots of nooks 'n crannies back there.....Has an adequate look to it......Dust and grime even collect inside the console compartments.
Maybe some application of some product in the Fall of this year will suffice. I don't want to over-do it. I'm running this puppy till she disintigrates.....nuff said. Regards, Jagg |

I got some 303 this morning and it does the trick. Thanks for all the help.
Does anyone know how many CR's Honda produced ? When I bought my CR the dealer told me that only 1400 were to be built and only 1000 coming into the US. How can you confirm this ? |
