Do you keep your top on in the garage?
My sister has a Mercedes SLK convertible and was telling me I should keep my top on even in the garage. She says keeping the top down all the time isn't good for it. She said something about it getting wrinkles or keeping moister locked in.
What do you guys think? |

When it's top down weather, I put the top up to keep the dust out, but I don't latch it. I do that in the garage and parked at work or wherever. I don't latch it because the latches wear out over time and it doesnt put that last bit of stress on the fabric. When I put the top down, I help it with one hand that first foot or so of travel.

especially when going down help the top drop gently. my top looks better being a 2001 than some of the guys around here with 05 and even 06's. They all ask how I do it and I tell them...RAGGTOPP and helping the top go down gently.
about the garage thing. I agree with the above statement. top up keeps the dust out and if there is any moisture it will help the top not mold or wear. you will get wrinkles as well but thats not a big deal if you condition it regularly. also if you have a plastic window like me, wait for the car to warm up, if its cold, before you put the top down. Ive seen too many people crack their plactic windows because it was just a little too cold...cold + plastic bending = failure... good luck
