if you have to ask that means you do not need to be the one that paints the thing. take it to a body shop and have them do it for you.

if you want it done right it needs:

to be done in a paint booth
to be done with oem paint
to be shot with a professional paint gun

a friend of mine was quoted $200 to paint an amuse bumper to match his berlina ap2. a lip is even smaller i'd expect maybe $100-125

Just a thought... the front lip will see the most scuffing, scraping, etc of any part of the car. For someone who drives alot would it honestly be worth shelling out hundreds for it to look pretty for a few weeks at most?

if it was a BB or a GPW i could understand this... but a sebring / silverstone is not going to be easy to match with off the shelf paints from an auto parts store

thread starter, you ever think of painting the lip flat or gloss black? it looks fine on sebring/silverstone cars IMO and you can do it yourself and i can give you some instructions. not typing them out though if you're dead set on a matching lip.

When RL posted a pic of his lip before painting (it was black on a silver car), I thought it looked good. But now that he has it painted, I think it looks awesome.

To your point, it will get scuffed and chipped. But ~$200 to have it match the original color-- even my tight-wad @$$ thinks that's money well spent.

My color is pretty decent, Its a little off but my hardtop that was done for 700 isn't 100% silver is known to be one of the hardest to match even more so the metallic silvers.

I painted the lip here.. Think its pretty close for sebring and rattle can match

Looks good. If someone knows what theyre doing they can spray paint a lip and have it look perfect. As far as matching colors goes you can have a paint store mix the paint and put it into a can. Also I cant speak for sebring but as far as silverstone goes you will have a very very hard time getting it perfect. Something is funny with the silverstone paintcode too apparently there arent different variations like most vcolors have.

Followed the links instructions spend alot on prep work, If you feel comfortable with it im in no way a painter but feel I have some common sense skill, If you know what I mean sand it down, prime it sand it prime it, if there are any deep scratches or screwed up areas fill them up with this putty, Its almost like bondo but you can smear it on with your hand it comes mixed like unlike bondo how you have to add a hardener additive. This stuff is good for small things bondo for bigger. Then sand prime, That is with a flex primmer then lay color then prime! lol They way i looked at it if i screwed up it only cost me $40 in supplies I can always sand it all down then bring it to a body guy to do it.
