Top got ripped, even more

My top has a has several cuts in it. Every time I found one, I'd slap some of this stuff called Tear-Aid on the wound. It's been water tight and never had any issues with the small tears except for the one on passenger side where the frame seems to cut into the material. Its been slowly seperating and tear went beyond the Tear-Aid tape.

So I go to the mall for about 30 minutes and come back to the car. I get in and see that some A-hole decided rip it even more. Not sure if they were trying to get inside or if it was just a random act of assholishness.

Going to talk to the insurance company tomorrow to see if:

A) a police report will be nessesary to file a claim like this.
B) they deny it due to the top being damaged prior to the ripping.
C) cut me a check for the cost of a new top.

Got State Farm and full coverage, hopefully B will not be an issue.

Anyone else had any thing happen like this?

Like Kind and Quality.......it's the lay of the land as far as insurance is concerned.

I can't stand marks! If you have a $500.00 deductable it may just be better to pay it yourself instead of having that claim on file. I understand its not rediculouslyexpensive to have replaced.

it'd be in your best interest to not mention the top was already deteriorating.

if someone slices my top i am damn sure not mentioning that i have a pinhole on the passenger side

Got the check from the insurance company, $1500. Does anyone know where to find a Robbins top online? The cheapest one I found is $605 at convertibletops.com.

This one that I found is a canvas top and I can get it in tan. I think that would look good with the tan interior and white exterior.

Bill's upholstry in Arlington can intall it for $600.

yours is GPW too?

did not know that.

i was kinda thinking about the tan / blue tops. i like my tan interior but i dont think i'd like the top to match.... black is just too easy to keep clean, i think a lighter color would be a pain in the ass to deal with.

Finally got the top in the mail after about 3 weeks of waiting and found a place to install it. Cost of the tan Robbins top was $695 and free shipping. Install was $550.

The top is a little lighter than the tan interior but I think it gives it a more of an "upscale" look.

I'll post pics when I get the camera working and the car cleaned up.

I think I was going to some call, I can't remember. But I saw this white S2000 that looked just like mine. I glanced at the plate and had to do a double-take. You were turning right on a street that I kept going straight. I was thinking, "Is that T6? He doesn't live around here and it's not a normal work day. Did he have a front plate?"

Don't worry. If I stop you for anything it will be a warning. haha

REALLY!! That is sweet! Do you know if it comes off easily? Soap and water should do the trick, right?

If so, I can do that on my days off. When it stops raining of course.

i'm thinking a warm day, or a blow dryer might make your time a little better. top down and open the doors, you might be able to find the edge of the tape in the door jamb somewhere.

yeah, it definitely needs to be warm to heat up the glue. you have a few more weeks to do this here. just leave it in the sun for a while, then try. blow dryer also works, but i'd let the take heat up a little first.

do i smell a tech day?
