Ripped Top? - Lets fix it!!!

I've seen a few topics recently about ripped top (by latches). My car has the same issue, and it is '04 - not covered by bulletin. So I just called Honda USA, and they said that this issue needs to be resolved because it sounds like it is a defect (at least they admitted it).
We can write a letter to Honda, and i'm planning to do so to include other years in the bulletin. I need the list (AS MANY AS POSSIBLE) of owners, whose cars have this problem (described in the bulletin) but do not fall under years/vins listed there. They asked for VIN, so if it's not too private - PM your VIN to me. If not - that's fine i guess, just your First and Last name, and year of you S2K.

thanks

Also they recommended going to dealer and ask them to inspect the car (rip), even thought it does not fall under bulletin. They might still fix it (depends on dealer)

TSM

call your local fabric store. ask them if they have ripstop fabric in black. if so, go buy a yard.

while you're there look for flexible & washable fabric glue, buy a small bottle.

cut a square that will cover and extend around your rip or wear spot, test fit, then apply the glue to the ripstop you cut out, a perimeter bead and some in the middle, apply the patch and with your hand on the outside edge of the top providing a "backing" use a flat tool like a credit card to smooth the patch on.

ditto. I didn't know what to do about it so have just been sealing it with black RTV whenever it opens up again
