Front license plate relocation

I hate having my front license plate up. It looks hideous. Does anyone know how i can move it over to a side because this way it doesnt look too bad. Ive seen a few with the plates on the driver side and it looks pretty good. I dont want to take it off because i already have 2 front license plate tickets. Are there any kits available or what. BTW, i'm okay with drilling my bumper. thanks in advance.

Look around they have a bracket that lets you have it slide under your bumper.. They also have a motorized one that you can press a button and it will go down on its own it folds down and slides under the bumper

Timely. I was pulled over in downtown San Francisco the other day by a City cop. I was pretty well baffled as to what the prob was. Turned out, no front plate. Claimed the City is cracking down because of the camera controlled intersections. Suspect that is true. As SF's finest was writing up my "fix it Ticket", several other cars passed by without front plates. I smiled and pointed as they passed. Of course, no sense of humor.

Anyway, I put the plate on. What a disaster. I am going to get signed off ASAP, but man, got to think of something. Guessing there is a fine for subsequent tickets.

Yuck....never moving to Cali now that's for sure. No front plate is a "secondary offense" here in Utah - IE they can't pull you over for that (and in the almost 9 years I've been speedin-- I mean driving here and been pulled over honestly at least 20 times they've never even mentioned the missing front plate).

i've seen people just zip tie them INSIDE the grill opening to one side. nothing beats no plate but thats about as good as you're going to get...

You COULD always have the plate inside your car. Passengers side in between the front winshield and dash. But damn is that ugly.

Not in the Commonwealth of VA. You get a ticket because it's not in the front of the car.

If we only had european plates. Much narrower. Could live with it.

Does anyone know what happens with the second no front plate ticket in Ca?

I had mine off to the side at one time. I used one of the bolts and double stick tape on the other side to the bumper. The upside it is out of the way of the Mugen Airbox inlet, downside is, if you try to remove it, it will remove the paint. The front plate is the main reflector for laser radar, which is the real reason the powers that be want them on the cars. I am in Hayward and I see a lot of cars without without front plates including mine own car

I relocated mine to inside the grill opening. I bent back the top 1" of the plate (the numbers and the word California are visible), drilled 2 small holes on each end of the plate, and used plastic ties to attach. Even passed muster in SFO last Sunday - never got a 2nd glance from several cops. And I gave the car a significant workout between Napa and Winters (SR121/12 on the way home with no cooling issues in 85 degree sunshine. Looks better than hanging the plate out in front of the hood.
