looking for turbo input
I'm currently building quite the s2000 that I'm really trying to finish within the next 2 months or so. I have a few ideas about what I would like to do with the engine, but I'm not going to tip my hand. I do however need a little input from some people who either HAVE or KNOW about the turbo kits out there or building a kit. I have been thinking about a twin turbo setup on my car instead of a radical engine swap, but I've also been thinkin about a single turbo setup. Now i know no one makes a twin turbo kit & im not talking about a sequential TT like on the other thread so calm down, but I think if I did it right I could have a pretty reliable high horsepower car. (using the smaller turbo & big ass turbo method... smaller one helps spin the big ass one). So what do some ppl think? also, about the single turbo's, does anyone here have a turbo kit installed? if so, what kind/your thoughts on it/power output, etc? Feedback will be greatly appreciated, thanks.

I wouldnt even consider a twin turbo setup. A gt30r or gt32r is going to have a very fast sool time since its a efficient ball bearing turbo and they make good power. If you build the motor right and use one of those I dont see it being very laggy and it should make some pretty good power.

I highly recommend scrapping the twin turbo idea, alot of money and time for something not needed. With using a single turbo setup you can gain just as much, if not more power to your F series engine. I havent turboed a S2k (yet) so Im not sure on the best setup. But if i were to choose a setup, turbo manifold, garret gt30bb turbo, full T1R turbo back exhaust, fullrace FMIC/hardpiping, bigger injectors (maybe 680CC) engine management (Greddy?). You need to make a power goal, and stick to it. Cheers

Exactly how much power are you looking to put down?

You are going to need more than 600 to produce anything unseen so far. There is one that is putting down 650.

If you want to be VERY unique, make great power, without disrupting the the weight balance too much, put in an LS1 and run a twin turbo setup. I guarentee that 800+ ft-lb will be enough to shred some tires (and probably axles) apart.
But at any rate, even if you keep the F20 and aspire for 450-600 whp, there's a lot of work that needs to be done. You will need to have a full engine build performed. Forged internals, machined to exact spcifications to start with. A complete re-vamp of the fuel system, a full standalone ECU, and then you haven't even gotten past the engine bay yet. The clutch, flywheel, transmission, differential, axles, and driveshaft will all need to be either strengthened or outright replaced. I have no doubt that you knew this already, but just wanted to make sure you knew what you were getting into...tens of thousands of dollars, and several months of downtime.
