Turbo Charged S2000

Can anyone please help me?

I just bought a 2001 Honda S2000 and I want to get it turbocharged. I have never owned a turbo car or know exactly what set-up kit I need. Can someone please assist me on a good quality turbo kit I can use on my car, and the accessories that will have to go with it ..

Thanks Guys

Inlinepro makes a nice kit. You are still going to have to get an engine management system. There are a few out there but I think AEM is one of the best.

Stop for a minute and ask yourself a few questions. What is the purpose in getting a turbo? Do you know how the car reacts when you hit a corner really hot? Can you drive the twisities without losing either your lunch or the car? Do you really know how the car handles and what it can do? Do you want to spend money on a turbo, a drive line, a clutch, a differential? Do you know what will break first?
You haven't had the car long enough to even know what you have. Learn the damn car first, then go throw your money away. If you don't know where you started, how do you know when you get to where you want to go? (Personally, I really don't care how you spend your money, I am just offended that you want to ruin a perfectly good, well designed automobile in pursuit of some goal that you can't or haven't even defined because you don't have any idea of what you have)

There are a few turbo kits for the S these days. A search here might help some:

I know for a FACT that the last year of production of the S2000 is 2003!!!!!
After that, it will be the S2200 under an assumed name.

I'm really not ragging on you but you really need to go on some serious drives and then decide if you need to modify anything on the car. Last weekend we did the Monticello Mountain Romp in Charlottesville. The route covered mountain, two lane road and some (minor) bits of highway. There's no better way to discover the limits of the car (and yourself) than driving behind someone who has a bit more experience with the car. You'd be surprised what the car can do when you know it well...it's an amazing piece of craftsmanship. You're talking about modifying a car that you just bought. If you had wanted a muscle car, why not just buy a Mustang or Dodge RT? The difference between those cars and the S2000 is the difference between a sledge hammer and a rapier.

I disagree. The added low end torque that the turbo gives you makes the car much nicer to drive on the street. The power comes on very smooth and is easy to control. If you go to a large turbo and tune the car for big HP then you will have driveability issues and the power will be hard to control . I have a precision SC61 turbo and it starts boosting at 2,000RPM and is at full boost(7psi) at 4,000RPM. I am making 300HP at the wheels. This is the way this car should have come from the factory.

I agree, if the man wants more power thats on him. But as a warning if you are not very comfortable with the stewie i recomend you drive it a lil more before putting a turbo on it. Also do some research on the turbo that you decide to go with, their are some no- noes that you must learn so you dont turn a 5K+ kit into scrap. My suggestion woulb be to find someone that has a stock turbo car like a gti etc and drive it so atleast u understand the concept of a turbo and how it works. Oh also get a turbo timer!

Inlinepro is the kit to go with. i am pushing 412hp at the wheels(12psi) and driveability is great. of course my head has been ported and i have a few other goodies, but the car is great. my turbo cuts on at about 2800rpm and is full bosst at 4500. def go turbo with aem. just make sure you know who is tuning it

Man...where's Frontline to get all over this guy and piss in his Cheerios?? LOL

I agree with KG but with less harshness. I think getting the car and going to a racing school to learn how to drive it first and THEN throw your money into whatever you want is the best way to go.

Just my .02. Bottom line: Enjoy the car whichever way you want!
