If he had a paper tag, his engine probably wasn't broken in yet.

Lets see the dyno sheet? 412 hp should not pull away from a new zo6 considering you have half the tq he has and half the tire. No way were you gone if he was racing. Just because theres a type r thread on this site right now doesnt mean we are all ricers.

remember weigh ratios come into play. any body know the weight of a z06>? Oh and lets be seriouse we are all a little guilty of 1 or 2 street races no matter from a dig, roll or just a random dude on the highway..... So please define a ricer???? Thats just dumb on your part that because he has a power packed s2k you gotta call him a ricer? stop sipping the hater-aid and give him the benefit of the doubt. oh here are the specs
2007 CHEVROLET CORVETTE Z06--V8 (7.0 Liter) Specs BASE PRICE: $66,465 VEHICLE TYPE: front-engine, rear-drive; 2-door, 2-passenger hatchback DIMENSIONS: Total Interior Volume: 52 cu ft Cargo: 22 cu ft Wheelbase: 105.7 in Length: 175.6 in Width: 75.9 in Height: 49.1 in Curb Weight: 3132 lb STEERING: Turning Circle: 39.0 ft FUEL ECONOMY: EPA City/Hwy MPG: 16/26 Fuel-Tank Capacity/Range: 18.0 gal/288 mi ENGINES: Standard Type/Displacement: 7.0-liter pushrod 16-valve V-8 Power and Torque: 505 hp @ 6300 RPM, 470 lb-ft @ 4800 RPM TRANSMISSIONS: 6-sp man So a z06 has 505hp? thats hopefully at the wheels? right if not i can see the stewie at 412 at the wheels stick with him.

I feel the Z06 is faster, even with the weight, i mean you said it your self
ENGINES: Standard Type/Displacement: 7.0-liter pushrod 16-valve V-8 Power and Torque: 505 hp @ 6300 RPM, 470 lb-ft @ 4800 RPM big numbers = fast car LOL, I'm interested in his turbo those are some kick ass numbers, how many PSI are you running? and the numbers are they seat of your pants or are they from a dyno and keep it civil guys "Thats just dumb on your part that because he has an s2k FASTER than yours you gotta call him a ricer?" from being around "ricers" (guys who buy a civic and slaps a big ugly wing on it and really don't know much about cars and think an off the shelf intake and a fart can will give then 15hp and worship the letters "JDM") there is alot of bench racing and tall stories and by the way s2000isu didn't call him a ricer so if you want to rip on me now thats cool Last edited by HELL_ON_WHEELS; 11-27-2007 at 03:13 PM. |

I didnt call him a ricer I stated that I am not a ricer so you can not lie to me and expect me to believe it. Is that clear? First of all big deal if his is faster I think I realiazed a long time ago I will never have the fastest car period and guess what I havent lost much sleep over it. Basically my point is he claims to have a fast car with this and that. If you have read all of his posts youd have a better idea of why I am lifting the bs flag nice and high. I didnt bring hp to weight ratios into it for a few reasons the z06 only weights 300 more has around 60 whp more and double the tq.

'At's 'n awful lodda heat considerin' all the ifs, maybe's, could'a/would'a/should'a/might'a beens n' all the rest'a the vagueries involved in a "street race" where ya don't even know who the other feller is, let alone exactly what it is that the other feller'z up to.
If it ain't on a track where you're fairly certain whut everybody'z there for (N' even then there can be all kind'z'a variables) it really is one big crap-shoot'a guesstimatin'. Given the right set'a circumstances, any (As in any) car can "beat" any other car. But, if it ain't 100% that they're both 'nads-out racin' ya kin beat'cher gums into guava-jelly n' it don't mean diddly. Now return to your respective corners n' come out swingin' (Aaaay! We all godda have a hobby, right?) Be well. Java

But even at 412hp in the stewie, very few cars leave a Z06 in the dust. Ok, no car I can think of actually leaves the chevy stone cold like that. I could understand if it was close one way or the other, but if it went down that way, there was no racing going on. Hey Morg, is that disbelievingly civil? Best Regards Guys, jagg |

Don't know what beats what, but if I paid $66,000 for any performance car and got beat by a Honda I'm either sleeping, stupid, or on my way back to the dealer to bitch about it.

The s had 412 at the wheels according to the OP. That mean about what? 450 at the crank? That means he's 50 HP short and about 200 lbs lighter and tons less in torque. If anything the Z06 should walk away on a rolling start because of the torque and then hold that distance based on HP.
My conclusion is 1) either the guy didn't get on it because it is still new 2) doesn't know how to drive it yet because he just got it and it is still new 3) got a great laugh and wanted you to think you had furry balls by letting you think you beat a Z06 just so he could go to a Corvette forum and laugh at how a Honda thought it beat him. Whatever the case, congrats on your "kill".

I will post pics for you guys of my turbo soon. And a dyno sheet.
No one has accussed anyone of being a ricer and nor was i treating anyone like a ricer. just you guys dont know how fast the car is. it is rediculous. because you dont have you doubt others and that is sad. 412 at the wheels is lik 480 at the flywheel. and i weighed in at a little over 2500 lbs. every 100 lbs in 1/10 of second. and i didnt just leave like he was driving the other direction but i did pull away. remeber we started at 50mph. i have a 67 mm turbo, ported head, 880 cc injectors, my intake is ported, 67mm throttle body, lowered compression to 9:1, plus im runing with AEM...basically "my shit is fast!" Non of you can even attempt to understand how fast your S is unitl you put that power on it. I will takes some pics for you guys and post pics. and yes it was a really fast transformation. i bought the car for the way it looked. she is very sexy. couldnt stand how slow she was so i fixed that problem. this isnt that bullshit greddy turbo system people buy this is the real deal. plus i can up the boost and go faster if need be |

you should take her on some really nice twisty roads, thats where this car really performs and excels, when you hit a 15mph coner at well over 45 and stick it all the way around thats the stuff dreams are made of(and me myself think this car is fast for a 2.0 4 banger thats just me
and I have to say WOW 480 at the crank what are you running in tq? should be on you dyno sheet and what are you at with psi how high? |

when the "S" first came out it was one of the quickest sports car in its class range, most of the other sports car makers pepped up after Honda released it, but not Honda they weren't trying to "keep up with the jones's" so to speak, for what the "S" is and the price it was, people got more bang for the buck

Here is my slip lets see yours. The dyno sheet too. By the way I didnt spend 5k and I am trapping pretty good compared to alot of sc s2000's so why should I be mad? I drive a s2000 if I wanted 11's I would have purchased a mustang. So stop with the talk and start with the proof. By the way what do you recomend taking out of my car to get it to 2500 like yours?

A quote from Motor Trend magazine's test between a Viper, GT500 and the Z06............
"The Z06 took top honors at the dragstrip, blitzing from a standstill to 60 miles per hour in just 3.8 seconds and blurring the quarter mile in 11.7 at 125 miles per hour (despite a sometimes balky 2-3 upshift). You must, at least once in your lifetime, experience having your head pinned back by acceleration like this. From the outside, at full throttle the Z06 sounds like an offshore powerboat running through a storm drain."
