turbonator??? haha

Has anybody heard of this thing? They are claiming 35hp increase just by inserting a stainless steel device inside your air intake, which in theory rotates the air while in gets sucked into the engine. it costs 39.95. what is ya'lls thought on this, or has anybody even dared to put this on their stewie?

It improves gas mileage by making your car lighter. See, the Turbonator is lighter than the $40 in your wallet, and we all know, reducing weight means fuel savings.

I believe I saw this on Myth-busters and it failed. They said that it just caused more air turbulence which is acually something you want to avoid..

More proof that P.T. Barnum was right when he said, "There's a sucker born every minute."

I am rather surprised it is possible to get such a product to the market. The creaters gotta be gangsters or extremely stupid.

There are tons of things out there that don't work. It must be a pretty profitable business and it's been going on for many years. Some people swear they see an improvement in performance, gas mileage, etc. but usually it's psychological, the placebo effect. Ever notice how your car runs better after you wash it?

There once was an ignition amplifier box made by a very reputable company (back in the 60's). It was a very hot item and claimed a huge improvement over a stock ignition. Everybody wanted one and they were paying big bucks for them. I took one apart with the intention of duplicating it. The housing was heavily epoxied together, so I had to destroy it to get it apart. No big deal because I was going to build a bunch of them anyway. Turns out the box was empty inside. A few wires going in one side and out the other.

I know for a FACT that the last year of production of the S2000 is 2003!!!!!
After that, it will be the S2200 under an assumed name.

Buy a turbonator, an electric intake blower, and a speed chip, and you'll be making at least another 90HP at the wheels.

If they give you stickers with all three items, make it 120! Wheeeee!

Also, quoted from the second page:

Quote:
The Turbonator is a non-moving vortex generator that goes inside your air intake hose, right after your air filter. It is made entirely from stainless steel, requires no maintenance, and only takes a few minutes and a screwdriver to install. If you don't feel comfortable installing it, have your mechanic do it for you. If he doesn't install it for free, find a new mechanic.

Or just let the bleach-blonde bikini babe at right do it for you!

I don't think making fun of these things will ever get old. I just really want to hear from someone who actually has one. That would be great.

I have the Turbonator. It's the best thing that ever happened to me.
The sky's clearer, the flowers smell sweeter, my acne cleared up, excessive sweating is greatly reduced,
some erectile function regained ,'n my Stewie is sippin' fuel like a debutante' at a kegger!......Turbonator good.

Hasta La vista, Baby,
