SC Kits???
Anyone know where on the web I can see the different SC kits side by side?
Also, what do you all use? What are your likes/dislikes about your kit? Thanks |

I have the CT system. I believe the CT and VT system are very similar.
The VT has more HP out of the box due to the smaller pulley. I believe the VT comes with about 7 lbs. of boost and I know the CT comes with about 5. I went with the smaller pulley and have 7 lbs now with the CT system. The VT system comes with the AC kit standard and the CT system does not. I ordered the AC kit for mine. One difference between the two systems is the connection to the oil pan. The VT system needs you to tap the side of the oil pan to get to the oil (at least it was that way a year ago when I got my CT system) and the CT system used a connector to the factory oil drain plug. I chose the CT system because Comptech specializes in Honda's. I have no complaints and I know many VT system owners can say the exact same thing.

On a scale of 1 to 10, how would you rate the ease of installation? 1 being super idiot proof easy and 10 being "Einstein would have trouble with it" hard.
Also, is the CT about a 100hp gain??? |

I talked to someone at comptech about 4 months ago and they told me the comptech kit does come with the aftercooler standard ,(when they were first realeased they did not come with the ac, but there were to many problems so they told me they started including it)
BUT now that ct-engineering sells it I think you can purchase a kit without an AC. I agree with gomarlins3 on the connection choice, I wouldnt want to tap into my oil pan... heres a few links to the different sc systems I know of: Comptech (ct) Prices from $5,995.00 to $6,595.00 Their company was split so now a company called "ct-engineering" sells the ct kit. and comptech only builds race motors etc.. gains claimed at an additional 70-80 horsepower at the rear wheels. 310-320 horsepower at the crank. http://www.ct-engineering.com/store/s2-sc.html Science of Speed Modified Comptech kit (from s.o.s) ScienceofSpeed Stage 1 Comptech Supercharger Upgrade -$2,047.00 30-40 hp on top of the standard Comptech kit. ScienceofSpeed Stage 2 Comptech Supercharger Upgrade -$2,152.00 60-70 hp on top of the standard comptech kit. http://www.scienceofspeed.com/produc...erchargers.asp Vortech prices from $5957.95/ea to $6258.95/ea for polished "This system bolts on 49% horsepower to give your S2000 358 tire shreddin' horsepower. I have the Vortech and I'm very happy with it. Your question about installation is hard to answer. I installed mine my self with a friend. The oil pan was time consuming but not difficult. I opted for an AN fitting for the pan so if I take the S/C off I can jsut cap the fitting instead of replacing the pan. The install is probably 20-30 hours, and the level of difficulty would depend on your mechanical expertise and experience.
I had never installed something like this on a car before, the friend that helped me is a mechanic (so I knew if I got in to trouble he would bail be out). I happen to be very handy and have installed every mod on my car myself, from the suspension to the electronics. from my perspective the install was probably a 6-7. the secret is patience. If you car is a daily driver, and you decide to go with injectors and an fuel management system, you may want to let someone that can tune it install it. drving the car with the S/C and fuel management not tuned could do serious damage to the motor hope that helps Mitch |

I also have the vortech. I installed it myself it wasnt that bad. Harder and more time consuming then I thought it would be but overall I would think most people would be able to do it. I looked over a few directions to get a ruff idea but I just winged it. The only part you need to be really careful with is when you do the oil pan.

You don't need an SC.
If you want max performance from an SC it's necessary. if you want less than 300 HP to the wheels, then you can go without the aem, and the injectors. I think the gauges are necessary, an SC adds heat and stress to the motor. monitoring those functions is important |
