TheCarGuy's Turbo build thread

Well I'm actually almost done with it, but what the hey, I'll share some pictures over the past few months of my build for the sake of your enjoyment.

Feel free to ask questions, as being one who went down the roads of both supercharged and turbocharged with this car I can answer many questions.

The setup is as follows +- whatever I forgot and all the homemade parts I made :
Garrett GT3582R + Custom Lovefab GT1 tubular manifold + AEM 1052 EMS + InlinePro 3mm head gasket + ARP head studs + 4" down pipe + 3" test pipe + Custom 3" single cat-back + Precision 600 intercooler + Exedy hyper single 6 puck clutch + AEM boost solenoid + Tial 44mm wastegate + Tial Q 50mm BOV + Science of Speed 70mm throttle body + FJO injector driver + Walbro 255 fuel pump + Custom turbo support brackets + AEM fuel pressure regulator + Seimens 875cc injectors + Custom 2.5" intercooler plumbing + Krank vents + Buddy club SECU turbo timer + AEM UEGO wideband gauge + AEM tru boost gauge + AEM Oil pressure gauge + AEM 3.5 bar MAP sensor + Auto Meter fuel rail mounted fuel pressure gauge + Anodized blue powdercoated valve cover + Anodized blue fuel rail cover + Puddymod EGR blockoff plate + ARC gradiation spark plug cover + C-wings carbon fiber trunk + NGK 7173s + Updated banjo bolts

Enjoy!

The old setup

Back to N/A

The manifold

Changing the oil squirter banjo bolts

I went with the Precision 600 intercooler

Starting to tear it down

Parts

Head off

ARP head studs

Going back together

Distance between the head and the block with the ILP 3mm head gasket

Still going back together

HAWT!!!

Love the sleeper look. Get a mesh grille and kinda hide that intercooler. BUT LOOKS BAD!!

Case closed!

Thanks!

I like the semi-sleeper look, but the intercooler is just too sexy to cover up with mesh.

That was a Turbonetics Raptor. Didn't make a lot of noise, but I was still at 7psi.
You can hear it here after I let off. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W2neoUDoCY8

It needs to pass the OBDII check (the AEM EMS doesn't use OBDII) and the cat needs to be in place. I'm in Cleveland.

It's not a kit, I've pieced everything together myself. I also don't have a test pipe, I made most of the exhaust myself and as you can see here it just goes from the down pipe to the exhaust with 1 vband connection. I'll need to borrow a friend's exhaust, put my header and cat back on in order to pass.
