In need of some <6k rpm drama

I am not really interested in more power. But I would like either an exhaust or induction sound improvement in the <6k rpm range. Is there such a thing?

What does the eBay snorkel product add to the show? As for exhaust, have heard a lot of the YouTube clips. Fun, but there is enough drama >6k.

Any ideas out there?

Wait, slow down.

What do you want now?

You want it to be louder at <6000 RPM but not too loud at <6000 RPM because it's loud at >6000 RPM???

Mugen has everything you need and you will get more power as well.

Is that what I said?

No, I am just asking if the car can sound little different <6k than my daughters Civic.

What about a cat-back exhaust. Intakes I have no experience with so can't help there.

I've got an ASM which I love. Absolutely no droan but makes some noise when you're in the throttle.

I am not really sure of any system that will give you more sound below VTEC that doesn't give you A LOT more sound above VTEC.

After that, it will be the S2200 under an assumed name.

drama above 6k

I am not opposed to more sound above 6k. Was just hoping there was something that would separate the car from the econobox's on the road.

A lot of cars are tuned these days, to make an induction sound that can be heard even in a parking lot. The 350Z is an example, whose induction roar is tuned to sound like a Star Wars fighter. My old Boxster made a wonderful mid range induction roar as well, again designed to sound like a early 70's 911S. This was about the only thing I liked about that car in fact.

Would a cold air intake bring additional induction sound? I am skeptical it would bring much power to the car. I suspect a turbo or supercharger would bring a lot, but I am not willing to make that commitment to the car.

I need to be able to pass the biannual California visual inspection as well. Don't see how guys pass that here, with some of the engine pics I have seen on this site.

A little late since the last post, but an AEM cold air intake and an HKS exhaust will cure your ills.

With the intake around 4K the car feels like it roars from its core and HKS (to me) makes the most ear friendly exhaust for the S2000, most other exhausts are just obnoxious.

to follow up if you want sound. If you want roar.....take off the air filter box cover...or maybe a cai.

An intake will keep about the same volume at low rpms and low throttle but when you rip on it itll get louder and a nice tone. If you arent sure if thats what you want just remove your intake box cover and go for a drive it will give you the sound. As far as the exhaust the comptech and borla may do that for you. My borla is quiet until higher rpms ive been told it doesnt sound like a honda at high rpm but its hard to tell in the car.

I have AEM CAI And APEXi Dual Exhaust, DC ceramic header and i have no complaints
It has a nice rumble sitting and when i get on the throttle sound pretty mean.

It does not have the civic or integra drone

People ask me what i have done to it amd when i tell them CAI, Header, Exhaust they are like that sound pretty nice man.

Magnaflow is the way to go man! Downshifts are sweeter than ever! I'll post a vid of the downshifts noise when I get a chance! It's freaking awsome!

I had a magnaflow single and I hated it. After a year I had to take it off and actually put stock back on and 1 week with stock I had to buy a borla.

They discontinued the single for a season man. Dual is the way to go! Why did you hate it. I thought Magnaflow and Borla, dual, sounded very similar.
