Sounds expensive. Is it worth it for a car designed for tracking and auto Xing?

Sounds like you're on the right track.

Here are a few things that aren't 100% necessary, but would be a good addition:
-Some sort of boost control, preferably electronic
-Thicker head gasket to lower compression (if you want to run higher boost levels)
-Larger diameter exhaust with no cat
-Aftermarket clutch
-Adjustable fuel pressure regulator
-AEM 3.5 MAP sensor (doesn't have to be AEM)
-Cooler spark plugs
-Upgrade banjo bolts (if pre 2002)

You will definitely need a higher flowing fuel pump.

Gauge wise; wideband, oil pressure, and boost pressure will monitor some of the mainstream vitals in a forced induction application.
