Vortech SC results before and after

I just got my car back from having the Vortech kit installed. Here are the before and after results from the Dynapack:

Before:
190hp
136tq

After:
311hp
200tq

I tried it this morning, when i was gettn on the on-ramp to the freeway, i mashed it going about 10mph, the damn VSA kept coming on all the way up to 4th gear. Its still felt a whole lot faster even tho the vsa cutting me down. Ill try it again going home and ill make sure the VSA is off when i do it.

Im gonna take it to the dynojet place i took it to last time, and see what my "after" numbers are from the dynojet.

I didnt realize i would be able to hear the SC as much. Its not very quiet, and i was also told the radiator for the after-cooler wasnt visible from the front. I guess im not gonna be able to creep up on evo's and sti's.

dont try it on an on-ramp... if the car gets away from you there's quite a bit on the right and left of you to run into...

6k for everything, out the door. Installed by one of Vortec's Top Tier installer, if that means anything. Vortech wont give the 3 year warranty if its not installed by a Top Tier installer.

I hear ya turbo, i need to find a better place to test her out. Away from traffic etc.

Yea i should paint it black ASAP before the look starts to grow on me. I suppose any auto parts store will have that type of radiator paint.

Something else i noticed, the RPMs are different. Cruising at 70mph, im right at 4k without the SC, but now with the SC, i am at 3.7-3.8k cruisin at 70mph.

Is that normal?

Interesting. I'm sure the boosted guys who actually DO know what they're talking about could chime in... but it makes perfect sense to me that your RPMs would go down for a given miles per hour.

Be sure you send in your information to Vortech and get their Warranty Certificate sent to you.

I have the first polished one they ever sold SN...2. They worked on it twice for me during the 3 year warranty period. All I paid was the shipping. Registering and having the certificate was important to them.

Hey Rick, how long did it take for the install. Was it a one day drop off in the morning and pick up in the afternoon project ?

It took 4 days, because I was also doing the before and after dyno results. I dropped the car off this Monday morning, they put it on the Dynapack, got results, removed the ECU and sent it to Hondata that day. Tuesday they took stuff apart and started the SC install. Wednesday they received the ECU back from Hondata, put it all together. Thursday they put it on the Dynapack and got the final results. I picked it up Thursday afternoon.

Without doing the before and after dyno's, i think it wouldve taken 3 days.

Another s2000 owner, enjoying a not so normally aspirated anymore induction system! It has to be nice obtaining those tasty torque numbers. Some blower whine might seem acceptable, if not downright desirable, But I am a nut job that way, who cares if it spooks the WRX STI's away from a impromptu stoplight showdown. The reluctant sheepishness seen in their aural acknowledment of your blower mods is your badge of superiority! Damn those are some mighty nice output numbers there man! Nice...

Your rpm is the same exact number at 70 before and after the sc. Only thing that could change that is tire size or gears.

I was thinkin that but I wasnt to sure how logical it was. I wasnt for sure it would result in a noticable rpm change.

Gears are things i thought of that would make a noticeable difference. I dont think that they touched any of that.

Not sure about the tires tho, because they did take off the rear wheels to test on the Dynapack.

Congrats on going FI. It definately changes the dymanics of the car in a good way. And yes they are noisy. But well worth it

I bought the Vortech complete kit(not the tuner kit) from www.superchargeronline.com, the installation was about 1k from Vortech's top tier installer. No tuning was required, they take out the ECU and send it Hondata for reflash, install the charger, then get the ECU back in.
