Requirements/Reliability Question
Hey everyone, i have decided that i want to turbo my s2000! Things you should know is that it is my daily driver and I wont expect to be screaming 500+whp lolol. I was wondering what kits has everyone tried, how long they have had them and problems that occurred. I need this car for 5 years+! it has 52,000 miles on it. I currently have no mods on it at the moment, its completely stock. What would I need to run a turbo safely on my s2000? Thanks for any advice.

Just so everybody knows, this is not my car. This is just a copy and paste job!

Greddy AP2 Turbo Kit Dyno Results! Lots of people don't like this kit but I live in Oregon and drive to visit my folks in California at least 2 months out of a year so its important to run a CARB legal kit incase CHP wants to pull me over and plus I needed a kit for reliability since I daily drive this thing everyday. Anyways I just wanted to share my results from last weeks dyno tuning. It was the best experience I've ever had at any speed shop. Im very happy with the tune and the car drives like a champ Engine Mods: Greddy Turbo Kit Berk 70mm HFC Invidia V4 Exhaust 333rhwp/236tq @ 10 PSI - dynojet dyno ![]() ![]() ![]() Dyno Video #1 Dyno Video #2 Maybe this will help you. As far as requirements I take it you mean, do I have to change out the internals? I don't think so, espescially since I just found out that the s already has fully forged internals and many owners run stock internals on hella psi!Don't take my word for it though. Do some more research, I am doing some still myself.

The greddy might be what im looking for! 333 whp is nice even it is on a dynojet
Reliability is key! i would love to hit just below 400whp with a turbo setup on high boost and sit in the low 300's at low boost. If its possible to keep the reliability of my car id do it! Thanks for the reply kaotic! Anyone have information on the Lovefab gt30r kit? Last edited by kidtwist; 09-17-2009 at 02:01 AM. |

I would suggest a SC personally (Comptech or Vortech). Very reliable and less worry about tuning and such.
Just my opinion though.

I dont really like sc since its like the same price as a turbo. I just feel like you get less performance out of them.

Keep in mind that these guys are selling SC's, also read up on the greddy kit and the vortech kit so that you can compare for yourself and make an educated decision. As for performance, its all about tuning- and this cost money. You WILL also need an upgraded clutch. |

My numbers on the dynojet are 358hp and 225 lbs tq with 8lbs of boost, my dynapack numbers are 311hp and 200lbs tq, so its comparable to the numbers of some the peeps here with a greddy turbo kit. The big difference might be the cost, new kit vs new kit. I paid around 6k installed, no tuning was required with my kit. With the greddy kit, your gonna need to have someone tune it.

Just so you know that guy with the greddy is actually on the board here... That type of power is actually not common with greddy's pretty sure he is one of the highest with the greddy.. Greddy your normally looking around 300whp and pretty sure your kinda stuck there, Even with a comptech you should be able to upgrade down the road ems injectors and go little under 400whp

I'm running the Greddy kit on my 02. I personally like it a lot. Of course it's not going to give you crazy amounts of power but it does make you a hell of a lot faster than stock and allows you good mid range power. I'm not looking to be a beast on the road but the power it does give is plenty for me plus it is a very reliable system you can put the kit to the test with out problems. I believe i'm right around 300whp which is great
