i am panning to buy a Brand new 2007 S2000, but befor i buy i have some question can someone please answer me.
i went to a honda dealer at philly at PA.
i was trying to put 11k for the down payment and 60 months by finance.
but they gave me an offer at 32k for the car and $580 something a months, that means the finance rate's like more the 11+%.
i am 21 years old after august 14,i have a gift shop for a half years.i have like 710+something credit scores.
so what i want to know is how much and how did u guys pay??
things like how much u pay the down payment and what is u guys fianance rate??

dude if you got a 710 go to another dealership, you should have laughed in there face as they was watching you walk out the door. You should have no problem getting a low intrest rate and nice payments.Try calling USAA then you dont have to deal with the asses at the dealership. All you will have to know is a hard price to tell USAA they have great A+++ customer service and will do you right. My score is is around a 640 and i got a 4.6 rate with them. Any other questions just PM me.Good luck!

You have to be a member of the armed services or directly related to someone in the armed services to be a USAA member I believe. I know I really wanted to. But like bobby said, with credit scores above 700 there's no such thing as double digit interest rates. Get a loan elsewhere and have the dealership try to beat it. If they can't, take the loan you got and get that car

Though I will say my insurance company sure didn't like the S2000. My monthly premiums went from $187/mo (2 cars) to $360/mo with the S added on as a LEISURE VEHICLE (sub 7,500 miles/yr), dropping to $260 once I put $1k comp/coll deductible and good student discount, but still, damn. Good luck with that piece too.

Yea, i'm Active duty Army "Infantry" 8 yrs now. But i thought anyone could go through USAA?Maybe i'm wrong. Those guys hook me up, $75 bucks a month for Insurance, i'm 25 with 2 tickets also. Before i switched Allstate was getting me for $140.Now i do everything through USAA the only thing i dont like is theres no Banks to go to its all internet or by phone and no ATMs.But those guys pay me back for ATM fees.

They used to let anyone in, but as of a few years ago they tightened the process to just family members of active duty and veterans and the soldiers/veterans themselves.

If you can find a way for an average joe to make it in to USAA let me know, I would love to be a part of them

Try Capital One auto loans...They are currently at 5.99%...It's very simple, fill out the application online and they will call you within minutes with an approval...With a 710 score you should be approved with no problem...You will also then be a cash buyer at the dealer...As for the price, I got prices of right around $30,300 for an 07...Sales are slow for the S with several dealers still holding new 06 models which I was quoted in the $28,500 range...

And I know it may be myth or truth, but buying at the end of the month does tend to net you a better deal. The dealership I got my S from knocked off $1500 right off the bat, and it was already $2,000 below KBB list price.

I just bought my S, it was a new 06 and I got it for 29,000. My score is about 690 and I got 5.76%. You should definitely look at the Capital one, I got it as well, but the dealership got me a better finance rate so I went with theirs. But it was so simple and I had my check overnighted. The car is definitely worth 30k, its a 34k+ car, but usually you can get a bit of a discount off MSRP. I think invoice is like 32 or something like that.

You really don't need to use the dealer for your financing...Go to whatever bank you deal with or go to Cap1...Then you will know exactly where you stand and not what some dealer may be telling you...If the dealer can add a few points on to your finance rate he will...Thats money he will get to keep for himself...He knows your green regarding auto purchases and maybe he is taking advantage of that...

I didn't have a cosign, i actually brought someone to do it but as it turned out i didnt need it so the car is in my name. The loan was through the dealer, and was assigned to bank of america. as for the car insurance, its with nationwide. Honestly, i never told them my age explicitly...

I got mine from Galpin Honda in Mission Hills, CA
I got quoted for 30K for regular black interior, 2G more on black red interior (hard to find... i guess),
financed it for 60 month, 15K down, 5.9% thru Honda Finance, monthly payment is about 400 with tax and everything. My friend got his 06 for 29K at this dealership in Riverside, anyhow I could have gotten better rates if i went with other finance company, I just did not wanted to wait two more days to get approval and just bought the car. but if you have 700+ rating, try other dealership. anyone in so cal area looking to buy honda, you should definately try Galpin honda, Jim is the fleet manager and guy you should talk to. my other jag is from Galpin too and got really really good deal on my x-type.

anyways,, goood luck!

I'm from Philly, but I always used my credit union for auto loans. The CEO was my next door neighbor and I helped him every Saturday with his accounting records. Needless to say, I could get whatever loan I wanted at any time.

What bank do you normally use? Since you have history with that bank, there's a good chance they will give you a good rate. Never go through dealer financing unless they are offering 1.99% or 3.99% or one of those types of deals. That's where the dealership makes up a lot of money that it might not make on the sale of the car itself.

Buying in February in Philly with spring right around the corner will probably make it tougher to get lower than $32k. If you were buying last October/November, you may have had a better chance at $30k, especially with a leftover '06.

Good luck.

yeah, best way to go is to go to edmands, kbb, or nada and find the invoice price which is.around $31433. take of additional 3% (hold back)and find out what ever the dealer fee is. and minus that. from you offer that should be a soild deal for you and not to diif, for the dealer to take.
but i am 23 years old and also was 21 with a 730 beacon. but credit is juged by beacon #, credit high (amount fin. total) also debit to income ratio.
i needed a co-signer for those reasons when i tried to by an 03 s2k. that might be why they hit you at a high rate. but do shop, always shop around.
