WTT: Toyota Supra Twin Turbo

Looking to trade my beast of a Supra for an s2000. Car is in great condition and is an absolute blast to drive. I'm wanting an s2k with lower mileage and of comparable value or + cash on top. 1994 Supra @ 120,000 miles for $22,000. Why do Supra so overpriced? They must be collector's cars or something!

First - I never said it wasn't fast.

Second - It is an auto, and YES that KILLS it.

I dont want to get rid of my S. i just got done converting it to an AP2 and just installed some pss9's on it. Im interested in buying it and building it. its a nice track car.

my uncle-in-law has a supra. one day, he asked my wife if she wanted to drive it. she asked, "is it an automatic?" he just walked away. i taught her how to drive a stick the next day.

I dont know where this forum is going. Im not talking about the first time posters im actually talking about all the bashing on cars that are better than any of the s2000's on this forum. It looks like a really clean supra I dont know why auto kills it but um ok I guess if shifting makes a car cool or feel faster than manual it is.

Im sorry, but a sports car is not a sports car if it is automatic. If it is for the track, great. A good auto will always shift faster than a manual. But a true sports car is manual. Maybe my 02, but most will agree.

Dont you find it funny that the S2000 is ONLY available in manual...

Never said the car wasn't tight. The engine bay is very clean. Body it nice, and would love to.... oh but now I found it an auto. That killed it for me. Nothing to do with the car. And I NEVER said my "S" was better. He is selling a car, and I wouldn't buy it cause its auto..Plus for upkeep, an autop will never outlast a manual.

right on the same page,the car itself is bad ass,I just would prefer to have a manual over the automatic,thats it nothing more nothing less

they are considered collector's cars, and they are also considered exotics. They're pretty damn rare as well.

as for everybody bombing my thread with talk about automatics -- I actually haven't ever seen a true MKIV TT 6-speed with a clean title for under $26k EVER, and the one I saw at that price was beat to hell, had 155k miles, and some obscene body kit. So if you think that seeing a 14 year old car with over 100k miles go for $20,000 is ridiculous, consider spending $30,000. People do it all day long on the six-speeds, as these cars hold together and they keep their value quite well.

Auto does have its plusses over a 6-speed, I actually like it more than I thought I would because it really does harness the power. Purists may argue otherwise, but the price difference is just so drastic it's impossible to argue. When I bought the car I didn't want to compromise the overall condition of the automobile just to have a standard, so I chose to buy a great condition auto. Don't get me wrong, I would love to own the 6-speed, but it just isn't as affordable.

As far as swapping in a new tranny -- the Getrag 6-speed in the Supra is an absolutely fantastic transmission, its found to be as solid as the engine itself. A swap is simple because many people tend to do it, but it gets really expensive.

In my honest opinion, I think the MKIV TT is hands down one of the best platforms for high performance motor-sports out there. Most of the major components on the car can already withstand power/torque levels which would likely break all sorts of things on the S. If this were a manual, I would consider. One of my good friends has one maxed out on the stock twins, great car.

Then again once I get around to tuning my car I'll probably not want to get rid of it. Good luck on the sale and your journey into an S.

thanks, I appreciate the positivity! the supra was and still is revolutionary in the sports car world, I'm still astounded at the way the car handles as well as the power, it really is a solid performing automobile.

That Supra IS clean, inside and out! I wouldn't trade it for an S2K though cause' the fact that it's an auto. I would rather go here (focusautosales.com) and purchase a manual one, that is if I have enough money (Supras are overpriced). But hey, that's just me
