Dash Mounted audio controls

Hello everyone,

For anyone who has fitted an aftermarket head unit on, had anyone had any problems with not being able to the dash mounted audio controls? I heard that if i get an aftermarket system that i would have to purchase an infra red unit which connects the IR signals from the head unit to the cars audi controls. Is this true and if so has anyone found any problems with their IR unit? As i would like to be able to keep the original dash mounted audio controls. Thanks

I never heard anything like that. but there is a harness u can purchase that will do the same thing.

well there is a harness you can purchase from lucid. you do have to be careful which head unit you use though. If memory serves correctly it has to be 05 and up and it has to have the option to work with steering wheel controls. Good luck

Lucid Automotive: Radio Controls

These are hardwired options that do not need an LED to work, but the downside is that they only work with specific head unit.

Below is another that does use an LED.
