Silver Audio cover?

Hi Guys, sorry if this a repost. I'm buying a 2000 S2K and wanting to change the black audio cover to the silver cover, which year S2K silver cover should I buy and would fit my 2000. Thanks for the help.

Audiio Cover

I got mine off of Ebay. There are a few on there, and the price varies considerably, so definitely look around a bit. They usually note what model year the cover will fit, and the range seems broad...and may be standard from Day One...not sure. Good luck. If you need advice on swaping it out, let me know.

Not hard at all...

It's a fairly easy job...trust me. The door/border trim/ac vent comes off as a unit with a little gentle tugging. The only "hard" part is driving out the two friction pins that hold the hinge together on each side of the cover. I'd use an appropriate size hex wrench, tapping on the short end to drive out the pins. Be careful not to lose the spring that operates the door when you take it apart, and pay close attention to how it is installed prior to taking it apart. Other than that, I'd put some tape around the areas that are likely to get scratched when you drive out the pins. Took me about 15 minutes, the spring re-installation taking a bit of attention. Good luck!

Tim

P.S. Got my cover on Ebay. Bid low, with an automatic bid up to about $35. Some folks are asking as much as $80....too much.
