Power window override?

The passenger window on my car quit in the down position. No rain forecast for a few days, but my luck can't last. Is there any way to raise the window manually?

Remove the door panel, remove motor, push window up, block window in up position with a peice of wood or similar object, be careful not to slam the door hard so it doesnt knock the window off the wood. Check your fuses, the window swicthes(on drivers and passenger door), and check wiring to motor while door panel is off. If possible, bypass the switch and see if you can make the motor work to get the window up and check parts later.

Not ta step on toes, 'cause Mark's on, but I'd do the checkin' of the fuses n' stuff before pullin' panels n' chockin' with wood. Whu'cha think Mark?
Be well.

Checked the fuse

First thing I did, neither switch, driver's door or passenger door, works so I think I can safely assume it's the motor or a connection in the wiring......

As far as I know, there is no way to manually put it put without taking the door panel off. Can you hear the motor running at all when you operate the switch? If you can't you probably need a motor.

No, no motor sound on either switch. I hate like Hell to pull the door panel, but I guess I have no choice......

Hey y'all...
I had a similar problem with my car. Let's see if I can remember this right. It might be a trial and error thing. But someone told me to put the key in the ignition in the ON position and hold the window button down until you hear a click sound. This resets the module to open/close the window. You can do it for either window. I think I had this problem when I lowered the top, the windows would not go down with it. So I am not sure if this will help you. Can't hurt though I guess.

Thanks for the tip, it didn't work, but while I was screwing around I discovered that I had inadvertantly hit the window lock switch. I guess it only regulates the passenger window. I had to tell on myself, I'm a pinhead......

Haha, glad you didnt follow my advice then and tear it apart. Didnt know none of the switches would work with the button locked off. Had other cars that would only lock out the non drivers window switches.

If it in the lock position my driver window still works. That's the way I find that I have inadvertently flipped the switch.
