s2k center console differences

I wanted to see the different center consoles for the s2k but had a hard time finding a good comparison so heres what I've come up with;
(correct me if I'm wrong and I'll edit)

2000/2003 console

2000/2003 console with additional rear defroster option

2004/2005 console

2006/2008 console

I know one of them is the rear window defroster.

The first four pictures are from a '00 or '01, not the '02-'03. Notice the carpet on the tunnel, not the leather.

From the research I have done, the switch is for the HT defroster.

I know for a FACT that the last year of production of the S2000 is 2003!!!!!
After that, it will be the S2200 under an assumed name.

Pic four is of a different car. You can add the defroster button yourself. You can look at the shift knobs as well and tell those are '00-'01's. There are also no tweeters in the doors.

I own a 2002 and it has tweeters in the doors and a leather wraped shifter...

I am not going to argue with you, I am simply telling you the facts. The first picture in that link it correct (notice tweeters on the door, the LEATHER on the console and the LEATHER on the shift knob). The last two pictures ARE NOT FROM AN '03!!!! The interior trim IS WRONG!!

Do you want FACTS or not? They are OBVIOUSLY using pictures from PREVIOUS years in the interior photo gallery. But then I guess that if it is on the internet, it HAS to be true.

You can believe me or not, it's up to you. I am simply trying to help someone get their facts correct about a car I have had for 6 years.

GoMarlins3 is right! The extra button is for the optional rear window defroster on a car with a hardtop for 00 - 01 model years. 02 started with the glass rear window and that utilized the existing defroster switch on the instrument panel if you added the hardtop.

I dont think cbrguy7 was trying to argue with ya man. I think the web site confused him and he just wanted some clarification.

exactly thanks man, I've noticed certain people on different forums always seem to pop up in my threads and frequently challenge me. I'm used to it but before I belive someone I want a reasonable explanation or proof from other sources, The fact that others came out and elaborated helps.
My thread was on the diffrences in center consoles so the reason I posted the 03 as different was because I saw the extra buttons and on that website it says right under the pic its out of an 03.

Sorry for the confusion

The cup holder in the AP2 sucks. the seperator that pops out the side to separate the 2 sections doesn't do a damn thing, drinks still tip over when accelerating...the 1 thing i hate about the interior

In my 02 the rear de-fogger switch is on the dash and works with the glass rear window on the rag top.

I like the center console of the 08 model. its looks more accessible. I wonder why Honda focuses on upgrading the center console.

Because everything else is as close to perfect as it's going to get.

Bear in mind the model yr. changes were invented to sell more new cars. Cosmetic changes are made to make people feel their car is obsolete. As Jagg said, there isn't much they can do without engineering a whole new car. That's why I tend to drive mine till the wheels fall off. Nice thing about the S2000, there is not much change in style and the AP1 still looks good and the average person thinks it's a new car when clean. My 89 Civic is still going strong as well.

I don't know what you're talking about, S2000s don't have cup holders, they have change compartments. I love the way it the AP2 version slides back, James Bond style, kinda silly I know but I still get a kick out of it. Holds a lot more change than the AP1 change holder, and the coins don't leak out the back as easily. Drinks you gotta finish before getting in...

Nice pictorial, cb, thanks!
