Angry Beeping S2000

My S2000 makes a continues beeping sound when the key is left in the ignition and the door is open. I know its supposed to do that but dose anyone know how to stop that sound and were the speaker is for that alarm with out interfering with the managment system.

Close the door or remove the key. That's the easiest way to solve your problem.

I know for a FACT that the last year of production of the S2000 is 2003!!!!!
After that, it will be the S2200 under an assumed name.

I used to diconnect that on all my old VW's. It still annoys me, but it has saved my ass.

BTW, does anyone else's S lock itself without pushing the button on the remote? Mine does it about 15 to 20 seconds after I've unlocked the trunk with the remote. I'll walk up to the car, unlock the doors, unlock the trunk, put something in the trunk and I hear the doors lock. I pull the door handle and the damn thing locked itself.

THanks SM, I was close.
I'd be bummed if I was sitting in the car, top up (rare), popped the trunk, stick the keys in the ignition, go to the trunk to retrieve something while closing the door behind me and get back to the door and look at my keys hanging in the ignition, saying to myself, "WTF?" I guess that's why it's best to be top-down always.

I believe the feature is disabled when the key is in the switch.

It only happens if a door is not opened within that time.

Good to know. I'd hate to be on the wrong side of the lock.
When I park in the garage and get groceries out of the trunk, I leave my keys on the center console. Ain't never done it with the top up though.

I believe you have to lock it first to enable that "feature"

You have to lock the car. Then when you unlock it if you dont open the door with in 30secs the doors will lock back.

Got it. So if my car is unlocked and I unlock the trunk, it won't lock itself unless it was locked prior to me unlocking the trunk which was locked anyway even though I didn't lock my door when I left the car originally. Right?

My Accord does the same thing. Not a good thing if you unlock the doors, pop the trunk and some how drop the keys in the trunk as you close the trunk. Doors all locked and keys in the trunk, DOH!!!

I understand whatchumeen. Yeah its a simple fix by removing the key but I for one like to listen to the cars radio while im detailing the interior. The constant beep is annoying after a short while. Cmon guys.....any fixes for this?

Put a little tape on the door switch.

I've looked a couple of times since you started this thread Slidder, but I can't come up with an easy way to disable the key reminder chime only. Everything you can do, also disables other important features of the car.

sorry buddy, I swear I put some thought into it, just didn't come up with an answer.....On most cars it's easy.

A strategically placed round from one'z faithful 1911 will take care'a that problem post haste. 'Course . . . in the process'a takin' care'a the "problem" it may, possibly, remove small items such'z the windscreen, doorz, seatz, either of the front 'r rear quarterz n' possibly the engine, trans'n' rear. Very much dependent upon which way said 1911 wuz pointed at the time'a problem correction a'course.

I don't know what year you have but you could take out fuse 5 but it might disable other times on that same circuit. The easiest is like they said, just put some tape or something over the switch in the door jam. But if not, here's this:
